On to our day...
We began our day with a special check-in! Each child completed his/her "October My Name" for his/her portfolio. Each friend could choose whether or not he/she wanted to use his/her name tag for guidance! Some friends chose to write from memory this time! While each friend wrote his/her name I took special note of :
pencil grip
right or left hand
copied name or wrote from memory
Librarian Charley chose a fun book to wrap up morning meeting!
Time for a little science!
We began with a half glass of water, raisins, baking soda, and vinegar.
I asked what would happen when we add all the ingredients together? I took dictation as each friend gave me their prediction...
We got to see the vinegar react with the baking soda and create a "volcano" of bubbles. But...when most of the bubbles disappeared....
We saw "Dancing Raisins"!!!
We learned that the bubbles made on the raisins make them rise to the top of the water. When the bubbles pop, the raisins sink back to the bottom!
Some fun in the fall sun...
For center time today, we worked as one big group!
We learned all about the 5 food groups and "my plate"...
We sang some fun songs to helps us remember the food groups and how to eat healthy...
We wrapped up with a dancing song, using different actions depending on what type of food was on the screen (we sure had to listen and follow directions)...
Then...a nice, warm late morning to get moving on the parking lot playground!
During Jesus Time today Zippy came to visit reminding us to put our trust in God. This week we will learn more about another promise He made to Abraham. One that seemed almost impossible...
Have a great night!
