Happy Friday...and boy was it a "different" day!
The morning started off like any other morning, then around 8:00 the electricity in our classroom went out. But, here's what is silly...our outlets still worked (but we were advised to unplug our computers in case of power surges) and some parts of the school still had electricity, but not all. We worked through our day, like any other day, just a little less light in the classroom...no school phones...and no internet!
The blog will be a bit shorter than usual today as I am using my hotspot for internet access!

To wrap up morning meeting today...yep...that's right...tricky mouse is still here! This week he brought upper and lower case letters to hide under!!! But, can't fool us, we knew all these letters and found him every time!
Time for small groups (centers)!
We had some decorated eggs that were all mixed up! First we sequenced them from smallest to biggest. Then biggest to smallest! Then, we noticed that some of them were decorated the same, so we sorted the eggs by decoration! Sequencing and sorting are both early math skills.
With Mrs. Dose (and Mrs. Oswald while Mrs. Dose was helping in Mrs. Hoehner's room), we had to help the plastic eggs be put back together again! Each friend was given the bottom half of the egg with a lowercase letter. His/her job was to say the letter and the sound it makes, then find the matching uppercase letter and snap the egg back together. Not only did we practice recognizing/identifying letters and their sounds, putting the eggs together is great for improving small motor control!
Time for a little rhyme! We love the tiny rhyming puzzles. Find the 2 pictures that rhyme and they fit together to make a small 2 piece puzzle. Rhyming is an early literacy skill!
And...we FINALLY got to go outside to play again!!!
During Jesus Time today we remembered the wonderful gift Jesus gave us by dying on the cross to save us from our sins. We also remembered that if we do make a poor choice, there is still a consequence. But, because of His sacrifice we get to live with Jesus forever in heaven!
