Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's class!

Magnatiles to improve problem solving skills...

Coloring to improve writing and drawing skills!

It was time to see what we remember about positional words!  I had 6 cards, each with a different positional word.  Friends got to "pick a card, any card".  I would read the card aloud and he/she would place his/her body in relation to Addison!

Then off to the gym for the first of two celebrations on this last day of NLSW 2025...

An ALL school assembly!

Complete with a short devotion, songs...

Zion cheerleaders...

A relay race with some of the big kids...

And...Boomer the Bobcat!!!

Three cheers for Zion's student council...we had a BLAST at the carnival they planned for ELP and Preschool friends in celebration of NLSW!

Corinne's grandma was our guest reader today...have I mentioned we LOVE having family and friends read to us on Fridays!

Then...as always...our free choice Friday!!!

We wrapped up our morning with some dancing songs on the smartboard!

Addison took her turn with the favorite book bag! She loved getting to tell us about her favorite book, and showing us her drawing of her favorite part of the book. We ALL enjoyed listening as I read the book to the class!

During Jesus time we continued learning the story of Zacchaeus, remembering that Jesus loves everyone! We are all sinners, and he just loves us anyway!!!

Have a great weekend!

Thursday, January 30, 2025

It was a rainy Thursday in preschool!

But, oh what fun...showing all of our Bobcat SPIRIT!!!

We did a great job working together and taking turns as we worked with magnatiles and strengthened writing skills!

We used our rubber ramp to create a "wind maze" this morning. Our friends used his/her problem solving skills to figure out how to get a ping pong ball through the "maze" without their hands AND as quickly as possible! We were quite good at it!!!

As it nears even closer to Valentine's day, we discussed places that we love...

Time for small groups (centers)!

With Mrs. Mudd we created our 3rd quarter self portraits.  We remembered there are many parts to our bodies, more than just a head, eyes, nose, and mouth!  Not only does this improve writing/drawing skills it helps create a greater awareness of self!

Hearts, hearts everywhere!  Each friend would pick a card, count the number of hearts on the card, then using the finger, wrist, and hand muscles place that number of clothespins on the card! The ability to count objects accurately and understand one to one correspondence are early math skills!

SHHHHH!!! Center number 3 is a secret...you might find out our secret closer to February 14th!

We we're SUPER excited to see the volleyball net up in the gym...

Lainey took her turn with the favorite book bag! She loved getting to tell us about her favorite book, and showing us her drawing of her favorite part of the book. We ALL enjoyed listening as I read the book to the class...we sure know that Lainey LOVES Halloween!

During Jesus time we loved hearing the story of Zacchaeus. We had so many questions...How short was he? Does God even love the devil? It was great to have these conversations...

See you tomorrow!
