It's hard to believe, but the last day of preschool is here!

The journey, for me, has been fantastic!  Each child is unique and has brought something special to our classroom!  Once again, thank you for the chance to share each day with your child!  For those whose preschool days with Zion are complete...I will miss you, but you will do GREAT next year!  For those returning for another year of preschool...I will see you soon...August will be here in the blink of an eye!

A special thank you to Mrs. Dose and Mrs. Cooper, your hard work and dedication to Zion's children is appreciated more that you will ever know!!!  THANK YOU!!!

A tiny bit of free choice before heading to chapel!

One last check-in...

A few parents and siblings joined us for our FUN closing chapel today...

Mrs. Mudd even got to play the role as soldier!!!

We had so much fun with "here but not seen" two weeks ago, we wrapped up morning meeting with this super fun game that improved our recalling skills!  One friend hid in the bathroom while another friend was covered up with a blanket.  The friend that was in the bathroom had to try and figure out who was missing.  This is tough to do with this number of friends, but we did GREAT!  And...what was possibly even harder? The friends sitting around the carpet had to use all the self regulation they had to not tell who was hiding under the blanket!

We enjoyed outside time on the preschool playground!

We read a special book...giving a glimpse into kindergarten...for our friends that have just about finished his/her preschool "career"!

We enjoyed a short clip from Mary Poppins...Let's Go Fly A Kite!

Then...it was a great day to fly a KITE!!!

We expressed our creativity and worked the finger, wrist, and hand muscles decorating plastic bag "kites" with stickers!!!

We enjoyed a fun picnic lunch just outside our classroom!

Then outside to FLY, FLY, FLY our kites!!!!

And...that's a wrap on 2017/2018...I hope you enjoyed the journey of this school year as much as I did!!!

Here we go...

A quick free choice time before heading to our first closing chapel...

A few parents and siblings joined us for our FUN closing chapel today...

Mrs. Haun led chapel, reading to us a big book "Sit Down"!  Mary and Martha even came to help act out the story.  They did a great job of listening to Jesus, we can do that too!

Yay for sunshine to have large motor time on the preschool playground!

We read a special book...giving a glimpse into kindergarten...for our friends that have just about finished his/her preschool "career"!

Pete the Cat arrived in the classroom again today in..."Pete the Cate I Love My White Shoes".  Poor Pete keeps stepping in all these different things that turn his shoes different colors!  But, does Pete cry...goodness no!!!

With me each friend got to do something a little silly!  Take off his/her shoe and trace around it on white paper.  Then each friend chose one crayon to color his/her shoe print.  I then took dictation as each friend told me what he/she stepped in (just like Pete)!!!

With Mrs. Cooper, Pete had left his shoes in a few different patterns!  It was each friends job to finish these patterns by coloring in the rest of his shoes.  Then, there was one where each friend created his/her own pattern!!  (Patterning is an early math skill)

One last DANCE PARTY of the year!  We have been blessed with borrowing a CD of 2018 VBS songs!  So, we got to dance, dance, dance as we got familiar with some songs we will be hearing soon at VBS!

Another chance to play on the big playground!

And...a surprise picnic lunch just outside our classroom!

Have a great rest of your day and hope to see many of you at Legacy Park tonight!

On to our day...

We are still LOVING the kinetic sand.  They can pack it, pull it, and shape it!  It oozes, it moves, and feels like it "melts" in our hands!  You can shape anything you want and use it over and over again! Great for fine motor and sensory development!

A rainy Monday morning had us taking a trip to the commons for large motor time!

We got our bodies moving, moving, moving in the gym today!

During Jesus Time we learned of a man, Paul, who was the opposite of Philip.  Paul was an unkind man who did NOT like Jesus.  He would even gather people who loved Jesus and put them in jail.  Then, one day Paul, heard a voice...it was Jesus!  Jesus made Paul blind for 3 days, during that time Paul prayed to be forgiven.  He was forgiven and was able to see again!!!  Paul then began to spread the Good News of Jesus!  We remembered that Jesus loves and forgives us when we make poor choices!  And, that we should spread the Good News everyday!

Check out Josh's work as photographer today!

Thank you for checking out our Monday!
