Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's Class!!!

Today's magnatiles adventures (during both free choice times) included a few disagreements, but this is how we learn!!! By the end of the day, we figured out how to talk to each other, work together as a team, and share with friends!!!

One last day in the snow...it was time to toss it out (and we are quite curious what will be in there next)!

A few new "treasures" to create and paint this morning!

The Estimate Jar was introduced at the end of morning meeting today! Beginning next week, when checking in, each friend will write his/her name. But, he/she will also write an estimate (good guess) as to "how many" of something is in the jar. There will always be between 1 and 10, but each day will be a different number! Then, at the end of the day I will read the estimates and we will count the exact number in the jar! Today each person said aloud his/her estimate, then we counted together the number of kisses in the jar!

Johnathan returned the favorite book bag today! He shared with us "Batman Says Thank You". We loved hearing from Johnathan about his favorite part of the book, and seeing his drawings.  We then enjoyed hearing that even superheroes have to use their manners as Mrs. Mudd read it to the class.

This activity is one way to encourage the love of reading.  Also, this activity allows the children (and teacher) to be introduced to new books!  Furthermore, it helps to continue to build home and school connections!

Happy 4th Birthday Rylee! Thank you for sharing your special day with us!

So excited to be adding yet another birthday lantern to our window display!!!

We just can't get enough of "spider"...we want to play it all the time, and it wears us out!

Our guest reader today was Rylee's aunt! What a great addition to Rylee's birthday celebration day! We were such good listeners that she was able to read three books to us ;o)

We are getting ready for a little "March Madness" of our own in preschool!!!

During Jesus Time today we enjoyed a short video about Jesus visiting Mary and Martha. We were reminded that it's so important to stop and listen. If we are busy, busy, busy all of the time we will miss out on important or fun things!

We were excited to see the sun this Thursday morning at preschool!!!

Molly made a creation at home using an empty gum container. As she was showing the class, much to their surprise, I pulled out of the cabinet a bunch of the same containers that I had been saving (I just didn't know what for...today was the day). We had the BEST time making creations of our own with empty gum containers!

If empty containers aren't your thing...we always LOVE magnatiles...

Or, seeing how fast you can spin a jewel in a circle!

Danny was excited to choose yellow and green for his birthday lantern!

Even though the ground was wet and mushy, we headed outside for some fresh air!

We even did a little "fishing"!

Next, we took a look at what it takes to go camping!  We watched as Dan and his robot packed what they might need to go camping. We learned what we need to set up a tent and the best way to prepare food when camping. We even watched how to tie some important knots you might use when camping! (Oops...forgot a picture today)

Time for small groups (centers)!

Friends worked together to make more written signs for our campground, Camp Kids.  We improved letter recognition, number recognition, and writing skills as we made our signs!

Earlier this week each friend was given a heart with his/her name and 3 lines drawn on it.  Each friend cut his/her heart on the lines, making 4 "puzzle" pieces. Today, with Mrs. Dose, each friend put his/her heart puzzle back together, gluing it on a piece of paper.  This activity not only worked our motor development and spatial awareness, it also showed persistence, and the ability to listen to and understand directions.

We improved our sorting skills as each group sorted all of the unfix cubes, by color!

We improved our early literacy skills as we took turns "reading" to a friend or "reading" to self!

We noticed before going inside earlier in the day that there was some snow hanging off the roof. We wondered if it would still be there when we went outside again?!?!?

Still there at 11:30 (but it was hanging over the edge a bit further)!

During Jesus Time we remembered how important it is to listen and hear God's word.  And, while we remember to do this, God is always listening to us.  He hears our prayers and will answer them when the time is right!
