Our Thursday was a bit closer to a regular school day!

WOW!!! Check out these 3D magnatile creations...created with a lot of patience, persistence, small motor control, and team work!

We still had a few hearts left over from Tuesday that still needed some decorating!  These friends were all hands on deck, excited to help out...

Today's dress up was a bit tougher, but still a fun day of NLSW...Circle of Life day!

(Reminder...tomorrow, Friday, is Favorite Color DayWear your favorite color from head to toe!)

We enjoyed a play performed by Zion's 7th grade classes "Three Billy Goats Gruff"!  We sure laughed a lot at this play! Our 7th graders have done a fantastic job preparing and performing this short play for us!

Wiggle worms arrived with penguins and lowercase letters!  If a wiggle worm was picked...well, you know...let's wiggle!!! (And, it's still hard to stop when Mrs. Mudd says freeze.  Good practice in self regulation)

If a penguin was picked...give the letter name and the letter sound (early literacy skills).

Will returned the favorite book bag today, bringing in "Sneezy the Snowman" to share with us!  We loved hearing from Will about his favorite part of the book, and seeing his drawings.  We then enjoyed hearing the story as Mrs. Mudd read it to the class.

This activity is one way to encourage the love of reading.  Also, this activity allows the children (and teacher) to be introduced to new books!  Furthermore, it helps to continue to build home and school connections!

Off to get our bodies moving in the commons...

After our hard work of creating our "wind maze" last Friday, some of our friends used his/her problem solving skills to figure out how to get a ping pong ball or pom pom (his/her choice) around the maze and into the hole!  This was actually a bit harder than expected!

Oops...I forgot a picture but...as it nears even closer to Valentine's day, we discussed places that we love and wrote it on a big pink heart!

Time for small groups (centers)!

With Mrs. Mudd we created our 3rd quarter self portraits (using pictures on our name tags as a reminder).  We remembered there are many parts to our bodies, more than just a head, eyes, nose, and mouth!  Not only does this improve writing/drawing skills it helps create a greater awareness of self!

Hearts, hearts everywhere!  Each friend would pick a card, count the number of hearts on the card, then using the finger, wrist, and hand muscles place that number of clothespins on the card! The ability to count objects accurately and understand one to one correspondence are early math skills!

SHHHHH!!! Center number 3 is a secret...you might find out our secret on February 14th!

We were sure to get a lot of exercise in the gym before heading to lunch...

Wesleigh did a great job as photographer today...check out her pics below...

During Jesus Time today we remembered the story of Jesus feeding the five thousands!  What a miracle for Him to feed that many from only 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread.  The people knew they could depend on Jesus to help them.  Just like we can depend on Him to help us!

Have a good night!

Thanks for bundling up and bringing our friends in for the best day of the week so far!!!

We had a few hearts left over from yesterday that still needed some decorating!  These friends were all hands on deck, excited to help out...

In my opinion, the BEST day of NLSW...PJ day!

(Reminder...tomorrow, Thursday, is Circle of Life DayYou can be as old (or as young) as you want to be today. Baby? Grandparent? Be any age you want.)

We headed to the church fellowship hall for surprise #1 today!!!  We enjoyed a pancake and sausage snack/breakfast from Chris Cakes! We LOVED watching them make and flip the pancakes all over the place!

It was even better getting to eat them!!!

With full bellies, we headed upstairs to enjoy chapel led by Mr. Debrick. He had a loaf of bread with him and mentioned that pancakes are a little like bread.  When you eat them you get filled up, but soon enough you are hungry again.  He reminded us that Jesus is the bread of life. He died for us and rose from the dead to wash away our sins. We get to live with Him one day, in heaven, forever!

Wait... we had another surprise!!!  Zion's STUCO held a preschool carnival for us today!  Complete with games, prizes, popcorn, a juggler, and balloons!  As a few said, "It was the BEST day ever"!

Thanks for checking out our super fun day...I pray you have a super fun night (inside)!!!
