Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's Class!

Yay, we now have only 2 larvae left, the rest are pupa...we CAN't wait to see them emerge as ladybugs!

We are enjoying our listening/reading center.  Each friend can enjoy listening to/reading a book on CD.  We are learning the proper way to read a book:  front to back, and left to right.  We are beginning to understand that letters make words, and words make a story. We are also improving our listening skills...we have to wait for the special sound that tells us when to turn the page! If a friend is waiting for a turn, he/she places his/her name tag on the table showing who is next!

Happy Birthday Oliver! Thank you for sharing your special day with us!!!

Tricky Mouse was back and he brought squirrels with letters on them.  We did a great job of identifying/recognizing letter names and sounds to find that tricky mouse (each time he hid from us).

Another birthday treat for Oliver...his mom was our guest reader today!

They rain stayed away for us to be able to enjoy extra time outside this morning...

Then...after a quick clean up in the classroom, we spent "free choice" Friday in the gym (a couple of older grades on field trips and the gym was all ours)!

During Jesus Time today we remembered the story of Jesus ascending into heaven.  Zippy reminded us that Jesus loves us, forgives us, and will always be near us and take care of us!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for stopping by our Thursday!

Yay, we finally have a couple of pupa...we CAN't wait to see them all enter the pupa stage, then emerge as ladybugs!

Mrs. Mudd led us in animal lego BINGO!  She grabbed a lego out of the box, each friend had to see if he/she had the match on his/her BINGO card!  Once you got all of your pieces, put your animal together!  We sure had fun, and we didn't even know we were practicing patience, identification of colors, matching skills, small motor control,  spatial awareness, and hand-eye coordination!

Tricky Mouse was back and he brought squirrels with letters on them.  We did a great job of identifying/recognizing letter names and sounds to find that tricky mouse (each time he hid from us)

We took a little time discussing the four stages of a ladybug again. Stage 3 is the pupa, which one of our larvae has become.  After some observation, each friend drew stage 3 in his/her lifecycle of a ladybug journal.  We are quite excited to see metamorphosis take place from pupa to ladybug in our classroom!

Yay for a dry day to get time outside this morning!

Time for small groups (centers)!

We improved our cutting skills as we made an earth puzzle.

After he/she cut his/her puzzle into pieces, each friend had to put his/her puzzle back together and glue it onto a piece of paper.  Spatial awareness is an early math skill.

More bubble wrap fun as we strengthen the finger, wrist, and hand muscles!

We enjoyed a chance to "read to self", exploring different books and "reading" by looking at the pictures to help tell the story.  We are learning that letters make words, and words are put together to tell a story.

We are becoming pros at the big kid playground!

During Jesus Time today one of the disciples, Peter, came to visit us.  He told us all about the years he spent with Jesus.  Seeing all the wonderful miracles Jesus performed.  Then, having to see Jesus die on the cross for our sins.  But, he was happy once we he realized that Jesus is always with us, even when we can't see him!  He reminded us that it is our job to be disciples and spread the Good News to everyone we know!

Have a great night!
