Thanks for checking out our Thursday in preschool!

We worked on shape recognition and improved hand-eye coordination using magnatiles!

So much planning and working together to make this fun maze!!!

Apparently we needed a little time to cool off and chat with friends ;o)

To finish up morning meeting we worked on quantifying, identifying numbers, and understanding positional words.  One friend would roll the dice and tell the class how many dots they rolled.  He/she would then find that number on the paper.  I would read the word and then...

Mia is "in front of" the chair!

Micah is "on" the chair!

Barrett is "under" the chair!

Oliver is "between" Maddox and the chair!

Last week we read "Those Darn Squirrels" and took a look at many different materials that we will use to create our very own squirrel proof bird feeders.  We thought about and explored our resources, using them in different ways to see how we could build a bird feeder.  Each friend then drew a "blueprint" of the bird feeder he/she will attempt to build next week!

Time to get our bodies moving!!!

Time for small groups (centers)!

With Mrs. Mudd we created a group art piece, working together to make the sign for our bakery.  We remembered to hold the paint brush like a pencil, and move the brush gently back and forth.

Exploring and learning about everything in our new bakery.  A great way to practice language and social skills.

We improved our writing and drawing skills as we wrote about or drew our favorite food or sweet treat!

With Mrs.Dose, we painted with fun colors.  But, did we use regular paint brushes...goodness no!  Our art tool of choice today...fresh broccoli!!!  Some chose to use the broccoli like a brush, while others chose to use it more like a stamp.

The parking lot playground did not disappoint today!

Can you guess who our photographer was today...
Mara is correct!

During Jesus Time today we were reminded that God forgave Jacob and always loved and protected him.  This is just like us if we make a poor choice.  If we ask, we will be forgiven by God.  He will always love us and protect us!

Until tomorrow...

We had an action packed Wednesday in preschool!

We worked on shape recognition and improved hand-eye coordination using magnatiles!

"Preschool Pastries" is open for business...it is still technically under construction, but we sure had fun "working" in there today!

To finish up morning meeting we worked on quantifying, identifying numbers, and understanding positional words.  One friend would roll the dice and tell the class how many dots they rolled.  He/she would then find that number on the paper.  I would read the word and then...

Mara is "under" the chair!

Cody is "between" Blair and the chair!

Rylan is "in front of" the chair!

Grant is "behind" the chair!

Feels a bit more like summer than fall...but we had fun nonetheless!

Yay for more time outside to get our bodies moving!

Grant did a great job as photographer today...

During Jesus Time today we learned the second part of Jacob and Esau's story.  Jacob was so afraid of Esau that he ran away.  While sleeping with his head on a rock, he had a dream.  God was at the top of a staircase with angels going up and down the staircase!  When Jacob awoke he realized he didn't have to be afraid, he was forgiven!  He was reminded that God is with him wherever he goes.  This is just like us today...God is with you wherever you go!

See you tomorrow!
