Oh happy day from preschool!
A few of our friends started with REALLY working those muscles. Squishing that playdoh as flat as they could to be able to make "cookies"!
Luke concentrated and really took his time as he wrote his first and last name today!
Oh those silly bugs...back at "buzzing" around in our classroom!
These 3 boys learn to share with others and take turns as they play with the firehouse/police station together!
While these 2 ladies stretch their imaginations as the work with "iPods"!

Dare I say "brrrrrr"?!?!? It was a tad bit chilly this morning, but outside time was the best nonetheless!
We then finished up morning meeting with Wiggle Worm...he is back!!! Today he brought with him upper and lower case letters. If wiggle worm was picked from the bag...everybody WIGGLE, then stop! Having to stop is tough, but it helps us learn self regulation!
If a letter is picked, that friend told everyone the letter name and the letter sound!
Today we sang our song, teaching us that we always start our letters at the top, not the bottom or middle, but the TOP! We then split into 3 groups and practiced forming the letters U - Z with wood pieces!
We then took a little time to read a book, "I Like Myself". This book reminded us that God makes each of us different, we are all special in different ways!
Time for small groups (centers)!
With all we have learned about being a cook...we used food or food items in every center today! With me, we sequenced different foods from smallest to biggest or biggest to smallest. The ability to sequence is an early math skill. Success for some was sequencing with hints from me, while success for others was sequencing on his/her own.
With Mrs. Dose we practiced writing the letters U - Z in flour with one finger! This is much easier than trying to manipulate a pencil while writing. It allows our friends to practice forming letters correctly without having to worry about holding a pencil and applying proper pressure!
Uh oh! Our popsicles lost their match! Each popsicle had a picture on it, if you found the 2 pictures that rhyme, the popsicle was back together again! Rhyming is an early literacy skill.
We got to pretend to be GIANTS and sort "boulders" (dyed chickpeas) by color. Not only did we practice our sorting skills we also improved small motor control!
Even though the weather was awesome, many friends asked if we could go to the gym today...so off we went!

During Jesus time today we remembered Joseph's story using different color crayons!
Black - reminds us of anger. His brothers were angry at him.
Blue - sometimes means sad. Joseph was sad his brothers sent him to Egypt.
Yellow - a cheerful color. God was with Joseph and changed everything for good.
Green - color of growing plants. Plants grew for 7 years. Joseph knew to save extra for future.
Brown - the rain stopped and everything turned brown. Many ran out of food.
Red - love and forgiveness. When Joseph's brothers asked for help, he loved them and forgave them.
Orange - another happy color. Joseph was happy to be with his brothers again. But most of all, he was happy that God was always with him and blessed him!
