  Hello from preschool!!!

These friends have become pros at reading a book on CD...

We painted on something a little different today...coffee filters!

Good old fashion legos are great for improving small motor control.  And...we did a great job taking good care of them, doing our best to keep all the pieces on the table!

And...these ladies have become pro cup stackers!

Happy Birthday Callahan! Thank you for sharing your special day with us!

"Hippos in a Hut" visited at the end of morning meeting today!  We started with 7 hippos...

Some got a little sleepy and decided to take a nap in their hut!  Our job was to figure out how many hippos were sleeping by counting how many hippos stayed out to play.  How many are in the hut if 3 are left outside to play??? This is a tough concept to grasp, but we recalled what we had learned when we did this with dinosaurs, so we did a good job today.

Today we introduced the letter "Y"!

We remembered start your letter "at the top" then little line down diagonal, big line down diagonal to write a "Y"! Then we came up with words that start with "Y"!

Anytime one of our friends thinks of a word that starts with "Y" we can add it to our big letter.  Or, if at home, your child sees a small picture or item that starts with a "Y", bring it in and he/she can tape it to our big letter!

Then we practiced writing "Y" with crayons (nice and short to reinforce proper grip)!

Warm and windy is just right for us to enjoy large motor time outside!

Time for small groups (centers)!

First I read the book "The Very Impatient Caterpillar"...

Then, we followed step by step instructions to first draw a butterfly. Each friend then expressed creativity as he/she chose how to color his/her beautiful butterfly!

Each friend improved hand-eye coordination and social skills as he/she could choose to create on his/her own, with a friend, or with a group using magnatiles!

Kinetic sand is still a HIT! We LOVED getting to smash, squish, and build with this sand that forms, but also "melts" in your hands!

Off to move, move, move on the "big kid" playground!

During Jesus Time today, we remembered that the Holy Spirit is with us!  To help us spread the Good News that Jesus died and rose again to save us from our sins. Jesus wants ALL people, all around the world, to know about His great love from them!

Have a great night...
