Here we go...
These friends enjoyed the new "book of the week" on CD...
Good old fashion legos are great for improving small motor control. And...we did a great job taking good care of them, doing our best to keep all the pieces on the table!
We wrapped up morning meeting with a super fun game that improved our recalling skills! One friend hid in the bathroom while another friend was covered up with a blanket. The friend that was in the bathroom had to try and figure out who was missing. This is tough to do with this number of friends, but we did GREAT! And...what was possibly even harder? The friends sitting around the carpet had to use all the self regulation they had to not tell who was hiding under the blanket!
We are ready for the rain to go away! Until then, we had some fun in the commons...
Happy Birthday Addison! Thank you for sharing your special day with us...
We started off small groups (centers) listening to audio of the book, "Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons" while following along in the paperback book! If you're not familiar with this book, check it out! It's a super fun way to practice literacy skills along with math skills and singing!
Each friend then had the chance to give Pete any number of buttons he/she chose (up to 10)! First he/she wrote a number next to Pete (improving writing skills and number recognition), then had to draw that same number of buttons on Pete's shirt (connecting numerals to their quantities). Finally, each friend could color the rest of Pete however he/she desired!
With Mrs. Fahey, Pete was visiting their center with a number (from 0 - 10). As each friend chose a number, he/she had to tell Mrs. Fahey the number they chose. Then, they got to place that number of real buttons on Pete's shirt!
Finally, we improved our spatial reasoning and teamwork as we put together a Pete the Cate puzzle!
We did it!!!
On our way outside to play, we first said goodbye to our ladybugs...
Then...off to play...
During Jesus time today we talked about how there are so many stories in the Bible. We don't even know ALL of the stories yet, but we have teachers, parents, pastors, and friends that can help us learn them. And, we can help others learns too!
Until next time...
