Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's class!
Look at this planning and working together while creating with magnatiles!
We are doing a great job checking in using our "How do you feel today?" chart! Each friend decided how he/she was feeling (happy, sad, angry, scared, tired, or excited), then wrote his/her name in the correct column!
Free choice is a perfect time to improve scissors skills!
Or act out feelings and emotions in a comfortable setting!
Wesleigh sorted pom poms this morning. I did my best to only observe for her third quarter math portfolio!!!
Wiggle worms arrived with penguins and lowercase letters! If a wiggle worm was picked...well, you know...let's wiggle!!! (And, it's still hard to stop when Mrs. Mudd says freeze. Good practice in self regulation)
If a penguin was picked...give the letter name and the letter sound (early literacy skills).
Friends not here yesterday completed the final step of our paper airplane STEAM activity...
How many squares (floor tiles) does your airplane fly?
Each friend got 2 tries, we then recorded the furthest distance of the two!
And...here are the final results!!!
Everyone (even the big kids) enjoyed indoor recess this morning! However, we are blessed to have the commons to move, move, move!
Our guest reader today was, Zion 4th grader (and my daughter), Riley! Our friends LOVE when the big kids visit our class as guest reader. They realize that soon they will be able to read just like them!
I then took a few extra minutes to read "Double Trouble Groundhog Day". A few friends noticed words on the calendar for today, Groundhog Day. This was a fun book to help explain just a bit about what this silly day is all about!
Then...super excited as always...Free Choice Friday!
We began our time in the gym with a bit of stretching and a few "yoga like" moves...before getting our bodies moving, moving, moving!
"Mrs. Mudd, can you spin the ball on your finger?" My attempt was more or less a FAIL...Josh gave it his best try!
And...if that doesn't work, use your problem solving skills and let the floor help out a bit!
During Jesus Time today Zippy visited, reminding us to do our best to make good choices. Those that will help others, not hurt them. We always want to show God's love to others, but sometimes we do make a poor choice. We remembered even in those times, God forgives us and will always love us!
