Happy Spirit Day from Mrs. Mudd's class!

Look at all the learning taking place and fun we had this morning during free choice!

These friends use their senses (well...maybe not taste!) to explore the flubber for one last day...

A couple friends expressed creativity while painting a heart butterfly with watercolors!

And...these friends improved hand-eye coordination and problem solving skills as they created airports out of magnatiles!

Mrs. Dose heard that the next flight out was going to Texas!  So, she bought her ticket, grabbed her suitcase, made it through security...

And...made it on the plane with time to read a magazine!

The wind this morning was SO cold, so we chose large motor time in the commons!

These scooters are so great for balance, self awareness, and strengthening core muscles!

Our guest reader today was someone close to my heart, my kiddo Sam!  Sam is in 3rd grade here at Zion and our friends sure loved having him read to us.  They look up to the "big kids" in the school, excited to know that one day they might be the "big kid" that gets to be the guest reader in my classroom!

Parker returned the favorite book bag today! He shared with us "Push! Dig! Scoop!". We loved hearing from Parker about his favorite part of the book, and seeing his drawings.  We then enjoyed hearing the story as Mrs. Mudd read it to the class.

This activity is one way to encourage the love of reading.  Also, this activity allows the children (and teacher) to be introduced to new books!  Furthermore, it helps to continue to build home and school connections!

Three cheers for Free Choice Friday...check out what we chose to do today!

During free choice we looked at a few pictures of what the x-ray machine/scanner looks like at the airport, and what the actual x-ray of the bags looks like to the person working security!

Those that were interested drew pictures for the side of our x-ray machine.  These are all things they think might be found in a backpack or suitcase when flying on a plane!

And...our x-ray machine is up and running!!!

Front...put your suitcase in...

Side...what's in that bag???

And...all clear...take your bag and head to your gate!

During Jesus time today we watched "Let the Children Come to Me" to retell the story of Jesus welcoming the little children.  This reminded us that God will always forgive all of us and will always love all of us, no matter how big or little we are!

Gym time was a blast for the class!

Have a great LONG weekend...enjoy your Presidents' Day!
