Happy last Friday of school from Mrs. Mudd's class!
We are still loving the kinetic sand! Those that wanted a chance to work in the sensory table patiently waited his/her turn. Kinetic sand is designed to improve fine motor development, sensory development, and cognitive development. It forms just like wet sand, but give it a little tap and it "melts" right in front of your eyes! Feel free to try it out the next time you drop off your child(ren)!
Play through puppets is a fun way to practice language and social skills with friends!
We are doing a wonderful job following directions with the legos! We are remembering to only have what we are using off of the tray (we don't want to lose any tiny pieces). Also. since we don't have very many, we are willing to share with friends!
And look at the beautiful skies, even with the rain that was in the forecast! We enjoyed every minute of large motor time...
Wiggle worm visited the classroom for the last time this school year! Today wiggle worm brought colored shapes with numbers on them. If a friend grabbed a shape, he/she gave the color, the name of the shape, and the number on the shape!
If he/she grabbed a wiggle worm...
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle and FREEZE!!! It's hard to use that self regulation to stop when we are having so much fun wiggling!
Our guest reader today was Elliot's grandma, Judy! She shared with us two books, from the library, that she enjoys reading to Elliot and James!
Pete the Cat arrived in the classroom again today in..."Pete the Cate I Love My White Shoes". Poor Pete keeps stepping in all these different things that turn his shoes different colors! But, does Pete cry...goodness no!!!
With me each friend got to do something a little silly! Take off his/her shoe and trace around it on white paper. Then each friend chose one crayon to color his/her shoe print. I then took dictation as each friend told me what he/she stepped in!!!
With Mrs. Dose, Pete had left his shoes in a few different patterns! It was each friends job to finish these patterns by coloring in the rest of his shoes. Then, there was one where each friend created his/her own pattern!! (Patterning is an early math skill)
One last DANCE PARTY of the year! We have been blessed with a CD of 2017 VBS songs! So, we got to dance, dance, dance as we got familiar with some songs we will be hearing soon at VBS!
After all our hard work, we enjoyed our second round of large motor time outside!
And...we enjoyed our yummy pizza, goldfish cracker, and banana lunch...in the classroom!!! We even finished up with a couple of Oreos for dessert!
During Jesus Time today Zippy came to visit, a little sad. You see he had been invited to a friend's house to spend the night, but that would mean he would miss Sunday School. So, he would have to choose which was more important. We helped him decide that maybe he could do both! Stay at Rory's, but have his Mommy and Daddy pick him up in time for Sunday School. Zippy loved that idea and thought he could even invite Rory to go with him!
