Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's class!

What a glorious Friday it was...

A little painting to brighten our day!

Ella and Laina took some time to read to each other this morning! They may not be reading the actuals words, but they are understanding that letters make words and words make sentences that tell us a story!

Using a bit of teamwork and hand-eye coordination to build this lego tower!

And...a lot of problem solving while building this tower on a table with many different "tools"!

It was discovered a couple of days ago that we had baby bunnies in the rocks of our "mountain"! We tried to take a peek today, but they are all covered in a wall of fur. We all know, that for now, we won't use that part of the "mountain" so the baby bunnies can grow!

Off to play on the preschool playground!

Brooke has decided that she may not be able to use ALL these binoculars at once ;o)

To finish up morning meeting we tried a new way to practice recognizing and recalling (early math skill). One friend hid in the bathroom, while I had another friend hide under a blanket.  The first friend had to recognize who from the class was missing (under the blanket). For those that it was a bit tricky for, I would give a small hint or two! All in all, we did awesome (and we LOVED it)!

Our guest reader today was Davis' mom, Shannon!  She read to us 2 of her favorite books.  We realized that her second book was all about emotions/feelings, and the saying that is on our auction item is from the book that she read to us!

We started off small groups (centers) listening to audio of the book, "Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons" while following along in the paperback book!  If you're not familiar with this book, check it out!  It's a super fun way to practice literacy skills along with math skills and singing!

Each friend then had the chance to give Pete any number of buttons he/she chose (up to 20)!  First he/she wrote a number next to Pete (improving writing skills and number recognition), then had to draw that same number of buttons on Pete's shirt (connection numerals to their quantities).  Finally, each friend could color the rest of Pete however he/she desired!

It's been awhile since we had a chance to "read to self".  So, we did a little relaxing on this sunny day and practiced "reading" on our own.  No, they didn't actually read the words, but practiced using a book correctly (holding correctly, turning pages from left to right, starting at the beginning of the book, and using pictures as clues to tell the story).

With Mrs. Lind, Pete was visiting their center with a number (from 0 - 10).  As each friend was given a number, he/she had to tell Mrs. Lind the number received.  Then, they got to place that number of real buttons on Pete's shirt!

We ventured out to the big playground to get moving...

Then...we joined Mrs. Linneman's class for a dance party on the stage...

we were a bit shy at first...

But, it didn't take long for us to join in on the fun!

During Jesus Time today we remembered that Jesus doesn't want people to worry.  He cares about what the birds and flowers need, and He takes care of them!  But, He cares about us even MORE! He knows what we need, and He will provide it for us, even salvation!
