Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's class!
While others were enjoying free choice time, each friend (not here yesterday) began his/her day with a special check-in! Each child completed his/her "December My Name" for his/her portfolio. Almost everyone was able to write his/her first name from memory and some were able to write his/her entire name from memory! While each friend wrote his/her name I took special note of :
pencil grip
right or left hand
copied name or wrote from memory
To wrap up morning meeting, some of our friends took turns rolling the dice, recognizing/counting the number of dots, then finding that number on our "positional words" paper. (Quantifying, connecting numerals to their quantities and understanding positional words are early math skills)
Luke is "in front of" the present...
Natalia is "behind" the present...
Nolan is "beside" the present...
The cold kept us in this morning, but we got our bodies moving in the commons...
And then settled in for our guest reader, Everley's mom (and grandma)! Thank you for sharing 2 fun books from the library with us...
The day before Thanksgiving break, we received a letter from Mrs. Fish's class! We took some time today to write them back. Check out our letter to them...
Luke, Lincoln, and Kyle were all smiles getting to deliver the letter to their classroom!
We made it outside and were were thankful for the sunshine and very little wind! We even found a little patch of snow/ice left for us to explore...
During Jesus time today we watched a God's Story video reminding us that Advent is the time that we prepare for Jesus!
Have a great weekend...
