Check out what you could take home if you attend Zion's Dinner Auction in April, and are the highest bidder!!!  Take a look the 12 x 12 mounted collage in person at drop off  (this pic doesn't really do it justice)!

These cuties are simply priceless...

Here we go...

A bit of teamwork as a cage to use for pets was being created!

Dr. Harper is working hard taking care of her friends' pets at Palace Pets veterinary center!

Carter expresses creativity as he created with "good junk"!

Candy construction is great for the imagination and hand-eye coordination!

"Dinosaurs in the Den" wrapped up morning meeting today!  We started with 5 dinosaurs...

Some got a little sleepy and decided to take a nap in their den!  Our job was to figure out how many dinosaurs were sleeping by counting how many dinosaurs stayed out to play.  How many are in the den if 3 are left outside to play??? This is a tough concept to grasp, it was still tricky for many of us today.  But, as the week goes on, we continue to improve upon this early math skill!

Happy 5th Birthday Grant! Thank you for sharing your special day with us!

As a part of Grant's birthday celebration, he got to paint a special picture (he chose blue as his color today). As each friend celebrates his/her birthday, I will hang his/her painting on the wall.  By May we should have 1 large, beautiful painting!

Even though a bit wet outside...we ventured out to enjoy the fresh air!

We continued our STEAM activity today.  After reading "A Home for Dixie" last week, we wondered how did the family get that puppy home??? A pet carrier, of course! So, today we began creating pet carriers from boxes and other loose parts.

Each friend was given a partner and together they had to plan/decide how to start their pet carrier.  First, we noticed all pet carriers have a door, so decide where/how to have a door. Second, we need a way to carry it, so what will you use and how will you attach a handle?

Each team worked and planned together as they problem solved to create a door and add a handle!

Then it was the time many of us had been talking about and waiting for ALL morning! Our surprise visitor and pet expert, Miss Carla (and her daughter) had arrived!

We met Charmin the cockatoo...

This sweet puppy (yes...puppy...he is still growing) was all about the snuggles and kisses!

A chubby little guinea pig!  We loved getting to feed him lettuce and pet his soft fur!

We got to see 5 baby chicks, just 2 weeks old. We learned that by summer these chicks will be old enough to lay brown eggs.

Don't forget Nutmeg...in her cute pink tutu dress. She was not quite as sure about the kiddos, but was still okay with us petting her!

Finally, we had been waiting for so long...a chance to pet Charmin...

AND...let her stand on our arms!!!  He loved some of us so much, he wanted to stay and get super close to our friends!

After all the pet excitement and getting to ask Miss Carla many of our wonder questions, we headed to the gym to get those wiggles out!

During Jesus Time today we remembered the story of the women anointing Jesus' head and feet!  A disciple was quite upset that the women "wasted" her expensive oil on Jesus.  But, Jesus was glad that she shared with Him.  It was a great way to honor Jesus for what He was getting ready to do for all of us...die on the cross for our sins!

Have a wonderful night!
