In case anyone forgot...today was...GRANDPARENT/SPECIAL FRIEND DAY!!!
Before we jumped in on the fun with grandparents, we did do a few of our regular "things"...
Each friend (not here yesterday) found out "How Many SHAMROCKS Tall Are You?"
Once measured he/she found the correct number, for how many shamrocks tall he/she measured and wrote his/her name on our chart/graph. The ability to compare and measure, using non-standard forms of measurement, is an early math skill!
We have the most friends measuring 13 shamrocks tall, with the least friends measuring 10 shamrocks tall! The ability to compare more, less, and the same is an early math skill!
While many of our friends were at the book fair...some friends chose to color...
Some created with magnatiles...
While some chose to sort and explore jewels...
To wrap up morning meeting, we "tested" what we remember about positional words! But, before doing that we took a roll, counted or stated the number of dots, found that number on the paper, and I read to them the corresponding positional word. Each friend then found their spot in the pet store to "complete" his/her word!
See if you can figure out what we rolled today!
It was time to head to chapel with grandparents and special friends...
We belted out "The Butterfly Song" with awesome actions!
Then time for some yummy cookies and fun activities with grandma, grandpa, and/or special friends!
A BIG thank you to all the grandparents/special friends for making this a GREAT day for all of our preschoolers! I know they loved this special time with each of you, getting to show you his/her school!
Thanks again to all that helped make it a fantastic, special day for these wonderful kiddos!
See you next week!
