We had a great day as we wrap up a short week in preschool!
Reagan and Brooke are anxious to see which friend will arrive next!
These friends added a surprise factor to the favorite puzzle! Before trying to put it together, Claire and Kyler tried to guess what letter Korrinne was holding!
SJ and Owen improved hand-eye coordination as they created these power rangers!
Laina decided she wanted one too...great work!
A few friends improved small motor control as they made different shapes out of rubber bands and geoboards.
To finish morning meeting I placed 7 items on the carpet! Our friends job was to study the items and then "lock" them in his/her brain. I covered them up with a towel and took 1 or 2 items away! I only fooled them 1 time! Recognizing and recalling is an early cognitive skill.
Miss Kirby led chapel for us today! She remembered that Halloween is coming and wanted to know what everyone was going be for Halloween. She heard that if you dress up you get free candy! But, she realized it's not really free, someone had to pay for it...the people who hand it out! God gives us a better gift than free candy. He gives us eternal life for free so we can go to heaven. But, it's not really free either, Jesus died on the cross for each of us so we can go to heaven!

Next week we will spend some time learning more about firefighters! We even have a firetruck coming to visit on Monday and Tuesday!!! Today we read a book to tell us a little more about what a fire fighter does!
Time for small groups (centers)!
It was time for the doctor to help people, he had to give out band-aids! Each friend was given a paper with the question, "How many band-aids did the doctor give?" and a # on it. He/she told me the number and then counted out that same number of band-aids. Identifying numbers and quantifying are early math skills. Success for some was working with 1 - 5. Success for others was working with 1 - 10. While still success for some was working with 1 - 20!
With Mrs. Dose we were excited to see how many cubes tall the pumpkins were that Mrs. Mudd grew at her house! Not only did we practice one-to-one correspondence when counting the cubes, we also improved small motor control snapping the cubes together!
Where do many doctors work to help people feel better...the hospital! Each group worked as a team, planning and building together a hospital out of blocks.
Another beautiful late morning for large motor time outside! A little driving and climbing to get the wiggles out before lunch.
