Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's preschool class!
It's been awhile since we've had gloomy skies outside, but we were all sunshine in the classroom!
Carter wrote his name all by himself!
Three friends practicing letter recognition and singing their ABC's together!
Oh no...the dinosaurs took over the police/firestation...what great imaginations!
Many friends were excited to color and create with crayons and the straws that we had cut up in the sensory table. Great for improving small motor control!
And...the school bus from yesterday returned...and learning while the bus was "on the go"!
A few little sprinkles didn't stop us from enjoying large motor time outside!
Time for small groups (centers)!
We were excited to hear the sensory table still had corncobs in it! There was corn and ears of dried corn (3 news ones today too). We had to use our finger, wrist, and hand muscles to get the corn off of the cob so we can play with it later! Many friends thought this was REALLY hard work!
Each friend practiced his/her sequencing skills (early math skill) as they placed firefighters in order from smallest to biggest and biggest to smallest!
With me we improved sorting skills while I took some notes for assessing purposes! Success for some was watching me sort, then sorting as I did. Success for others was being able to sort one way (by color or size) on his/her own. While success for some was being able to sort one way and then sort another way on his/her own!
And...the rain never came...so more outside time for us!!!
Nothing quite like a rock angel! I was quickly corrected that they were making snow angels. So I asked, "How, since there was no snow?" With no hesitation, "We are pretending Mrs. Mudd!"
During Jesus Time Zippy came to apologize for being so grumpy on Wednesday. He taught us what it means to be grateful. We learned that God gives us what we need, and sometimes (many times) He even gives us what we want! We learned to be grateful for all things God provides for us!
