Hello from a Tuesday in Mrs. Mudd's class!

A few reminders!

Christmas Giving Project...Each year the students and families of Zion have the opportunity to donate to a charity during the Christmas season.  This year, our class is going to donate toys to St. Louis Children's Hospital.  These toys are used in various places throughout the hospital including children's playrooms, emergency unit, radiology, Same Day Surgery, etc.   Your child will have the opportunity to donate new, unwrapped toy(s) until Friday, December 19th.  We have a large wrapped box in the classroom for the donated items. The following Monday, Dec. 22nd, the toys will be delivered to Children's Hospital.  (Please see the email sent on Sunday, 11/23 for a list of MOST WANTED items!)  A big THANK YOU to those that have already donated!

Christmas Eve/Christmas Day services at Zion Lutheran Church...I hope you and your family will be able to join us for one of the following communion services:

December 24th at 3:00, 5:00, and 11:00 pm

December 25th at 9:00 am

Love and Logic Parenting class...is being offered at Zion beginning January 11, 2015 at 9:30 am. Love and Logic provides simple solutions, tips, and practical techniques to help adults with kids of all ages:

Harper, Natalia, and Jada began the day cutting straws in the sensory table!  A great way to improve fine motor control and strengthen the finger, wrist, and hand muscles.

 Our puppet shows today consisted of a variety of Christmas songs...I loved it!

Then, it was time for a birthday party for ...JESUS!!!

Aidan improved his fine motor control as he built this awesome train!

 We needed to get the wiggles out...so we...

jumped with hula hoops...

and ran...

and played some ninja ball...

and then we rested!

To wrap up morning meeting we read a book using a gingerbread man, placing him in the correct position on or around the gingerbread house!  Understanding spatial relationships is an early math skill!

It's PARTY TIME!!!!

A big thank you to the parents that were able to come help out today: Mrs. Anderson, Mr. Gibbs, Mr. Brown, Mrs. Salem, and Mrs. Johnson.  Also a big thank you to Mrs. Groves and Mrs. Giger for items to add to the goodie bags!

First a yummy snack...Christmas trees! We made green icing by mixing white icing with green food coloring.  Then, we  covered a sugar cone with the icing and added skittles for decorations/lights!

We made gingerbread cookie ornaments!

So much fun getting to play Christmas BINGO!

We loved the hot cocoa marshmallow toss!

Finally a little "pin the nose on the snowman"!

We wrapped up the party reading a book to remind us the true meaning of Christmas...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

During Jesus Time today Zippy was waiting and waiting for a present from his grandma, he was afraid she would not keep her promise.  But, it was finally delivered...to our classroom door!  Anna and Simeon waited and waited for God to keep his promise.  And He did...sending Jesus to the world!

We remembered that God keeps his promises...He gives us what we need!
