We had a great day in preschool!

After 21 hours...this is what our cardboard tree from Wednesday's science experiment looked like!  The kiddos were super excited to see it when they arrived at school this morning.

We learned that when the solution begins to evaporate (disappear), it leaves behind the salt as a small crystal that forms to look like teeny, tiny trees (ours is blue green because of the food coloring)!

Andi, Savannah, and Camdyn improve fine motor control as they decorate and wrap pipe cleaners around their toilet paper tubes!

Sophia and Will worked together as they put on a fun puppet show!

Another friend measured "How many gingerbread cookies tall are you?"  He then found that number on the graph and wrote his/ name in the correct column.

 Sophia and Korrinne improved small motor control and strengthen their finger, wrist, and hand muscles as they use stencils and scissors!

 "Look Mrs. Mudd, I made a shining light!"

"It's a candy catcher!  It holds the candy until you want another piece!"

 Ben and Aiden worked together as they use small and large motor control building a wall of blocks!

They later added baby Jesus, which made it a stable!

We were SOOO excited that we got another chance to play on the "big kid" playground!  We did a great job and had the best time!

Wiggle worm is still hanging around...and this week he brought snowflakes with uppercase letters on them.  If a friend picked a letter out of the bag, he/she showed the class, then said the letter name and the letter sound! (Recognizing/Identifying letters and their sounds are early literacy skills!)

If he/she picked the wiggle worm, the class gets to wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.  But, when I say, "STOP" everyone has to FREEZE!  A super fun way to practice listening and self regulation!

The we headed to church for the "dress rehearsal" for our Christmas Service this Sunday @ 4:00 pm!  All 6 preschool classes and both Kindergarten classes did a FANTASTIC job.  I can't wait for you to see it on Sunday ;o)  (Due to the practice, we did not have small groups/center time today)

We introduced the letter "G" and number "1"!  

We remembered start your letter (and number) "at the top" then big curve around, the little line for "G".  Then, big line down for 1". Then we came up with words that start with "G".

Anytime one of our friends thinks of a word that starts with "G" we can add it to our big letter.  Or, if at home, your child sees a small picture or item that starts with an "G", bring it in and he/she can glue it to our big letter!

Then we practiced writing "G" and "1" with our special handwriting without tears crayons (nice and short to reinforce proper grip)!

We had a little time before beginning Jesus Time...so we danced, danced, danced (and followed directions too!) to songs on the smartboard.

During Jesus Time today we remembered the story of the angels appearing and singing "Glory to God in the Highest".  The shepherds were not afraid anymore, they were filled with joy as they ran to Bethlehem to tell everyone of the Savior's birth!  A baby sent to save us from our sins!
