Mrs. Mudd's class was oh so excited for the big snowflakes falling from the sky!
Even with all the excitement out the window, we still found great activities inside!
Many of our friends improved small motor control and strengthened the finger, wrist, and hand muscles while cutting out Christmas pictures!
One of our preschool friends misplaced a blue jewel at school yesterday. She had brought it from home and we thought maybe it got mixed in with the jewels in our classroom. So, Ben and Andy lent a helping hand and did some investigating, trying to find the missing jewel!
Believe it or not...we are pretty sure we found it for her!
Will and Brady love acting out feelings and emotions in a comfortable setting!

To wrap up morning meeting we read a book using a gingerbread man, placing him in the correct position on or around the gingerbread house! Understanding spatial relationships is an early math skill!
Chapel today was lead by Mrs. Helmkamp, full day preschool teacher. She received a BIG letter in the mail...it was an invitation to a birthday party. To prepare for the party we needed decorations, a present, and balloons! But, wait, whose birthday is it??? JESUS! We remembered that very soon it will be Christmas. Sometimes we forget, but we need to remember what the real present is....JESUS!
Will did a great job as messenger, taking the offering to the altar.

We had candy canes of all different sizes...our job was to put them back in order from smallest to biggest or biggest to smallest! (Sequencing is an early math skill)
With Mrs. Dose we "rolled a Christmas tree"! Each child took a turn rolling the dice and counting the number of dots. Each then found that number on his/her paper, and added the corresponding ornament to the tree (i.e. the "6" had a picture of a star by it, so if a 6 was rolled each child added the star to his/her tree). Quantifying and connecting numeral to their quantities are early math skills.
I needed help with my snowflake pictures! I knew each picture had a rhyming match and thought my friends could help me out. For some, success was working together with a friend to find a rhyming match. For others, success was finding the match on his/her own! (Rhyming is an early literacy skill)
For a special Christmas treat, we watched the Veggie Tales movie "Saint Nicholas". We were reminded of the true meaning of Christmas, a celebration of Jesus birth and the spirit of giving.
After the movie...we needed to "shake it up" a bit! So, we danced to some songs on the smartboard before heading to lunch!
