We had a terrific Tuesday in preschool!

Here we go...
While others were enjoying free choice time, each friend began his/her day with a special check-in! Each child completed his/her "March My Name" for his/her portfolio. We did great! While each friend wrote his/her name I took special note of :

copied name or wrote from memory
"Dinos in a Den" was introduced at the end of morning meeting today! We started with 5 dinosaurs...
Some got a little sleepy and decided to take a nap in their den! Our job was to figure out how many dinosaurs were sleeping by counting how many dinosaurs stayed out to play. How many are in the den if 2 are left outside to play??? This is a tough concept to grasp, so it was very tricky for us today. But, as the week goes on, we will continue to improve upon this early math skill!
As we work on our music project, many friends wonder about different instruments, mainly "how do you learn to play them?" We watched and listened as parents, aunts, uncles, and students from past classes (except for the drums) shared what they know, and their gift of music!
Barrett returned the favorite book bag today! Thank you for sharing your favorite book "Dinosaurs" and telling us all about it!
The weather was not quite as nice as yesterday, but it was still pretty good for getting our bodies moving!
We then headed over to the band room in the church, where we met and asked questions of expert, Mrs. Thoelke.
Then, we LOVED getting a private performance led by Zion's 6th - 8th grade concert band!
We learned about each instrument and which family they are in...

After being a great audience...we stopped by the gym to get our wiggles out before lunch!
We remembered that it would make us sad if someone took something from us. It reminded us of the story of Zacchaeus. He stole money from other people. But, Jesus forgave Zacchaeus. Jesus came into the world to save people like Zacchaeus and ALL of us from our sins!
