Here we go...
Uh oh! Our candy canes were missing their stripes! Each candy cane had a number below it. First, recognize the number. Then strengthen the finger, wrist, and hand muscles forming little "stripes" of playdoh. Finally, add the correct number of stripes to each candy cane!
A few friends expressed creativity as they painted the Nativity scene with watercolors!
Carter improved his scissor skills as he created a masterpiece for his dad!
Hudson improved his writing/drawing skills as he colored a paper to turn into a paper airplane!
We read together "The Very Hungry Reindeer" by Mrs. Smith (currently a Zion 2nd grade teacher). This "spin off" of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" has this reindeer eating some silly Christmas things...and then he turns into...RUDOLPH!!!
We enjoyed time getting our wiggles out on the big playground before heading in to get our party started!
PARTY TIME!!!
We loved our yummy special snack of snowflake shaped cheetos, cinnamon sugar sweetos, and strawberries!
A big THANK YOU to Mrs. Helmkamp for planning/running today's party! Also, thank you to Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Campbell, and Mrs. Brown, the parent volunteers for today's Christmas party!
Time for FUN and games...
We improved small motor control as we decorated Christmas trees using glue and small sequins!
We filled ornaments with mod podge, glitter, and sparkly pom poms...then we shook, shook, shook them! When the mod podge dries, it will be a sparkly wonderland inside each ornament!
We got to RUN in the classroom!!! Run and grab a head, body, or legs...do this three times and build a silly snowman, Santa, elf, or gingerbread cookie!
Finally, we built a reindeer on the smart board! Roll the dice and find that number, then move that body part to the reindeer head, or even give him/her a name!
We then went back to the playground to release all of that left over energy from our party!
During Jesus Time today we learned more of the Wisemen following a single star all the way to Bethlehem to find their King and Savior, Jesus! We know that Jesus is not a King that wore a crown or lived in a palace. Instead he is our heavenly king, sent to die on the cross to save us from our sins!
Josh seemed to have a wonderful time as photographer, and we had some awesome models too!
Have a fantastic night!
