Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's class!

We worked and worked with magnatiles again today, but today we chose to work more independently! Still a fun way to better understand 2D and 3D shapes while using problem solving skills to build!

Some chose to paint a picture reminding us to remember our veterans today (and everyday)!

Rumor had it that a BIG dump truck was coming to our school; full of rock so the playground building can continue this weekend!  So...we headed out to watch all of the rock being dumped next to the playground!  The only thing better would have been to get to climb in the truck too!  

If you haven't had a chance to take a peek at how our new preschool playground is shaping up...I snapped a few pictures!  We are so excited for it to be completed!

We then headed out to the current preschool playground...still great for large motor play!

Tricky Mouse visited one last time today!  This trip he brought squirrels (uppercase letters) and acorns (lowercase letters) to hide under.  He tried to trick us many times, but we were able to name each letter and find him every time!

Time for small groups (centers)!

With me we found out that we can READ!!!  We picked out environmental print papers (i.e. Target logo, Goldfish logo, Barbie logo, Taco Bell logo, etc) that we could "read".  Each friend glued what they could "read" to his/her paper and then "read" it to me as I wrote down what they "read"!

With Mrs. Dose we worked on beginning letter sounds!  Each friend received different cards, each  with a letter and 2 pictures on it.  He/she had to figure out which picture started with the letter on the card.  Then, had to place a clothespin on that picture!  Success for some was getting help from a friend or Mrs. Dose.  Success for others was figuring out the letter and sound on his/her own! Not only were we improving early literacy skills, we were improving small motor control too!

We improved large motor control as we had a dance party to Veggie Tales music!

Our bakery will be "closing" soon, so we planned and worked together baking up all kinds of yummy things!

What a perfect day for a little extra outside time before lunch...

Oh no...Zippy was sick today at Jesus Time!  We came up with many ideas that might make him feel better:  sleep, soup, hugs, and praying!  He was going to go home and give some of our ideas a try. We learned that David would play music on his lyre for King Saul to make him feel better.  When someone is sick or sad God takes care of them and makes them feel better!
