Thank you for checking out our Monday in preschool!

Three quick reminders...

NO hot lunch available the last week of school (5/23 - 5/25).  Your child will need to bring a lunch from home with a drink on Monday, 5/23 - Wednesday, 5/25).

Picnic at the Park…Tuesday, May 24 we will have a Preschool Picnic in the Park evening from 5:00 - 7:00 at Laurel Park.  If you would like to bring a picnic dinner, Mrs. Stanglein has reserved the “upper” picnic pavilion.  Please note that we will not be providing any food.  Please also note that you will need to stay with your child(ren) for the time that they are in attendance.  It will be a fun night!

Last day of preschool…Wednesday, 5/25.  It’s hard to believe but the end of the school year is drawing near.  (Thursday, 5/26 from 8 am - 10 am is for grades 1 - 8 only).

We were EXCITED to see a tent in our block center this morning!

Since so many of our friends voted for camping (even though pets "won"), I had said that we could maybe at least have a tent for reading or resting with our pets the last couple weeks of school!

And...here it is...we loved getting to read to each other or our pets while relaxing in the tent!

We decided that we couldn't all fit in the tent at one time.  So, we agreed on up to 4 friends at a time and made a sign as a reminder!

 Our friends created with kinetic sand.  They can pack it, pull it, and shape it!  It oozes, it moves, and feels like it "melts" in our hands!  You can shape anything you want and use it over and over again! Great for fine motor and sensory development!

 Luke improved hand-eye coordination and problem solving skills as he created with gears.

It's that time of year where preschool is soon coming to an end for many of our friends.  In just a little over a week, they will be Kindergarteners!!!

This morning those moving on to Kindergarten worked on his/her "Tiptoe into Kindergarten" book.  They drew about what he/she will miss most about preschool and what he/she thinks they will learn in Kindergarten.  Then, I took dictation as he/she told me all about what he/she drew!

And...that silly rain is back...so we worked our large motor skills as we hula-hooped in the commons!

Tricky Mouse is making one last appearance before the end of the school year!  He brought uppercase  letter flowers and lowercase letter bees!  Not only did we practice letter identification, we also practiced the sound each letter makes before finding where tricky mouse was hiding!  He tried to trick us, but we found him every time!

And 6 of our soon to be kindergarteners were off to "Tiptoe into Kindergarten" (Our 5 other future kindergarteners will take this fun trip on Tuesday)!

We were very sneaky as we tiptoed into Miss Limback's Kindergarten classroom to get a sneak peak at what Kindergarten is all about!  Each friend drew a picture of what he/she saw in the classroom.  We then tiptoed back out as quietly as we tiptoed in!

Each friend then drew a picture of what he/she will like most about Kindergarten.  Finally, I took dictation again as he/she told me all about what he/she drew!

The 6 friends that tiptoed today will be bringing his/her book home today!  They are excited to show you what they created. 

We spent our time in the gym improving hand-eye coordination as we worked with basketballs!

During Jesus Time today we learned the story of Peter having to go to jail.  But, then being "rescued" by an angel sent by God and walking right out of the prison.  Everyone praised God for His answering their prayers!  Zippy then helped us to remember that we can pray to God anytime.  We don't have to wait for mealtime or bedtime.  We can pray anytime, all the time, about everything!
