Our Monday was so fun...check it out!

Remember to link to your child's Seesaw account (see email sent on 9/8 or use unique QR code sent home in folders..a few QR codes are just coming home today). Each child will have their own journal to which we can add photos, videos, drawings, and notes to showcase his/her learning in authentic ways.
On to our day...
We are learning how to use our new pattern tiles...you can search for tiles that look the same or different, and then create an endless number of patterns! Great for spatial awareness and problem solving skills...
We enjoyed decorating a little more of our processional cross that we will take to chapel each week! We sure love the sparkle...
To finish morning meeting, I brought with me 7 different items from around the classroom! We discussed each item and then "locked" each one in our brain. Then I covered all 7 items with a towel and took 1 item away. I did this several times, removing a different item each time. Our job was to recall which item was missing! The ability to recognize and recall is an early cognitive skill.
We ventured out, clipboard in hand, to work on an observational drawing of a tree! First we explored the characteristics of the tree, then each friend drew a picture of what the tree looked like to him/her!
Some cool, calm, cloudy weather for outside time!
Time for small groups (centers)!
With Mrs. Fahey we worked on letter recognition and letter formation! We used our magnet pieces to form the letters A - G, after telling Mrs. Fahey which letter she was holding! Letter identification/recognition is an early literacy skill, while proper letter formation is an early writing skill!
This will be our last week of rice in the sensory table, so we took some time to explore a little more before it is packed away!
Our kitchen dramatic play will also be closing soon! So, our friends had a chance to construct the world as they see it...in the kitchen...
With Mrs. Mudd we improved small motor control, hand-eye coordination, and patterning skills as we created patterns with beads on pipe cleaners. Success for some was copying a pattern that I created. Success for others was finishing a pattern that I started. While success for some was starting his/her own pattern!
Then...a few minutes to enjoy on the parking lot playground!
For Jesus Time today we talked about the Bible being a true story, and at the beginning of the Bible we can read about the beginning of the world. God created this world, with no mistakes, it was perfect. He also created us and loves us all so much. God is so good!
