  Welcome back to preschool!

Two quick reminders...

There is NO HOT LUNCH program the last week of school (5/22 - 5/25). Your child MUST bring a cold lunch with a drink on Monday, 5/22 - Thursday, 5/25.

The last day of school for preschool is Thursday, May 25…and there is NO after school care on this day. Please make arrangements to pick up your child at 2:50 pm on Thursday, 5/25.

Here we go...

Our legos have been all about creating things with wheels...cars, trucks, tractors, etc! Check out just a few of our awesome creations from today...

Cody was hard at work getting his birthday crown ready for next week!

Doing a great job taking care of their babies...

Sorting and social skills...two important skills we learn in preschool!

We loved "who is missing?" so much a couple of weeks ago...we brought it back! We wrapped up morning meeting with a super fun game that improved our recalling skills!  One friend hid in the bathroom while another friend was covered up with a blanket.  The friend that was in the bathroom had to try and figure out who was missing.  This is tough to do with this number of friends, but we did GREAT!  And...what was possibly even harder? The friends sitting around the carpet had to use all the self regulation they had to not tell who was hiding under the blanket!

For a little science we focused on our sense of hearing to figure out what I had hidden in a bag!  Without seeing the objects first, we decided it was pretty tricky to figure out by sound alone!

Paper crumpling, a pen clicking, scissors cutting, hole puncher "chomping", a jingle bell, a lid opening and closing, and a book opening and closing!

We had some surprise visitors from one of the 8th grade science classes! Each 8th grader had written and illustrated a book about space...we loved having them read them to us!!!

We sure have been blessed with outside times that seem to avoid the rain!!! We love the new "trail" that is growing and blooming more every day...

Pete the Cat arrived in the classroom again today in..."Pete the Cate I Love My White Shoes".  Poor Pete keeps stepping in all these different things that turn his shoes different colors!  But, does Pete cry...goodness no!!!

Time for small groups (centers)!

With me each friend got to do something a little silly!  Take off his/her shoe and trace around it on white paper.  Then each friend chose one crayon to color his/her shoe print.  I then took dictation as each friend told me what he/she stepped in!!!

With Mrs. Dose, Pete had left his shoes in a few different patterns!  It was each friends job to finish these patterns by coloring in the rest of his shoes.  Then, there was one where each friend created his/her own pattern!! (Patterning is an early math skill)

One last DANCE PARTY of the year!  So, we got to dance, dance, dance as we moved to songs from previous VBS!

And...we were excited to see the grass was cut and the ropes were gone...we could play on the hill again!!!

During Jesus Time today Zippy came to visit and he was sad and worried.  He was invited to a birthday party.  He wasn't sure what to wear, or if he would have any friends there. We reminded Zippy that when we are scared we can pray about it. We helped him pray, remembering that the Lord is always there to take care of us.  Helps us to be brave and kind, knowing He will always give us what we need to live as His children.

Hope to "see" you again tomorrow!
