Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's class!
We enjoyed starting our day with some coloring...improving our small motor control and writing skills!
We finished our 7 day forecast for our weather center...
Kyler makes our final prediction for Sunday...
While creating with magnatiles, we talked a bit about 3D shapes. Liam learned that a shape with squares on all sides is a cube!
SJ strengthened his finger, wrist, and hand muscles revealing what is hidden on the hearts left over from Wednesday's party!
Reese and Emma improved small motor control and problem solving skills as they make a snake with unifix cubes!
Kyler reported a tornado was on the way as Claire reported a hurricane was coming!
Hard to believe it's the middle of February, but we will take the warmer temperatures!
Using sidewalk chalk to write names in the rectangle pavers!
Look how tall we are!!!
We love our curvy slide...it's pretty fast!
Our guest reader today, Mrs. Coad, read us 2 of her favorite books that she likes to read to her boys at home! We must have loved them because we did a great job sitting quietly as she read both to us!
Time for small groups (centers)!
With Mrs. Mudd we "tested" our early scissor skills and spatial awareness. First, each friend as given a heart with his/her name and 4 lines drawn on it. Each friend cut his/her heart on the lines, making 5 "puzzle" pieces. Each friend then put his/her heart puzzle back together, gluing it on a piece of paper. This activity not only worked our motor development and spatial awareness, it also showed persistence, and the ability to listen to and understand directions.
With Mrs. Dose, we improved our scissor cutting skills as we turned coffee filters into snowflakes to hang around the room!
We took some time to "read to self" to explore our "new" books!
Uh oh...my hearts were all mixed up!!! We did a great job putting them back in order from smallest to biggest or biggest to smallest (sequencing is an early math skill). I saw some GREAT team work!
Being blessed with such a beautiful day...we spent a bit of extra time outside...we ventured to all 3 playgrounds before heading to lunch!
During Jesus Time today Zippy visited to tell us of a time that he made a poor choice and was unkind to a friend. At first he didn't want to share his story with us. He was afraid we wouldn't be his friend anymore. We learned that sometimes we hurt our friends when we should be helping them. But, God forgives us and gives us second chances to be a good neighbor!
