We had a great day in preschool!  Now that we have been back for a couple days, we are getting back into our routine!

Many friends started the day creating with playdoh!  Check us out, strengthening the finger, wrist, and hand muscles!

Ben did an awesome job writing his first and last name all in one line!

Some friends spent the morning in dramatic play, playing house...

Kyler's role was to be the baby.  He's a great napper!

The two friends were so excited to be back at school together after Christmas break!

And...then we bundled up and headed outside to the preschool playground!  We made sure to keep our bodies moving to stay warm!

We are still loving that Tricky Mouse came to visit us our first week back after break!  Today he brought numbers.  But, he couldn't fool us, we knew all these numbers and found him every time! Recognizing/identifying numbers is an early math skill.

We ventured out on a letter and/or word hunt around the EC wing and the commons!  We had to find different words around school and write them our paper!

Here are some of the different words we found.  Each friend could choose what he/she wanted to write.  Success for some was writing letters, success for others was writing the entire word!

With Mrs. Mudd we worked on part 2 of our winter scene art.  Today we worked with crayons to finish our scene.  Each friend drew the body parts or clothes for his/her snowman.  Then could also add other items (a snowy hill, trees, or maybe a house) to create a wintery background. 

On our own we improved small motor control, strengthened the finger, wrist, and hand muscles, and worked on 1-to-1 correspondence. We made tiny "snowballs" out of playdoh and placed 1 snowball in each of the parts of an ice cube tray.  We decided that if we filled each spot with 1 snowball, each friend would have to make 16 snowballs!

What better than a "Frozen" dance party?!?!? We improved large motor control as we danced to songs from the "Frozen" soundtrack!

With Mrs. Dose we practiced forming and writing letters correctly!  But, we didn't use a pencil and paper, we used salt.  This allowed for better control than trying to manipulate a pencil to write!

Just before lunch, we headed to the gym to practice some ball control skills!  

Some tried spinning on one finger (who says the ball has to be up in the air?!?)

Others saw how fast the ball could spin...

While some practice dribbling skills!

During Jesus time we took a "trip" around the classroom, reenacting the trip the Joseph, Mary, and Jesus traveled to remain safe from King Herod.  We remembered that God protected them on their journey.  Just like He always protects us!
