End of year reminders!
The last day of preschool is Wednesday, May 21.
Join us for "Popsicles at the Park" on Thursday, May 22 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Laurel Park. Come and play with your preschool friends and enjoy some yummy popsicles to kick off the summer!

A few friends started the day with tangrams! These "puzzles" not only allow children to practice recognizing shapes, but also work on spatial awareness!
Working as a team on puzzles!!! Another great way to work on spatial awareness!
Andi had to be very gentle, using hand-eye coordination, to create this block masterpiece!
"Look Mrs. Mudd, I made a hat!" Love the creativity!
Plenty of socialization and creativity at the art center this morning!
We LOVE kinetic sand!!! Everyone did a great job keeping the sand in the sensory table and waiting to get his/her chance to create with the sand!
One last day for tricky mouse to bring milk and cookies for us to practice letters. Since success for all children is different, there were some uppercase and some lowercase letters for the children to choose.
To begin small group time, we read (using the online free song):
Pete the Cat and His for Groovy Buttons.
Poor Pete looses his 4 buttons, but is he sad...goodness no!!! It's okay, he still has his belly button!
Each child had the chance to get Pete his buttons back!!! He/she could choose how many buttons to color on Pete and then had to write that number on the paper (look for these in backpacks/folders today). The ability to count and use one-to-one correspondence are early math skills!
As each child rotated around the table, he/she identified the number next to Pete. He/she then placed that number of buttons on Pete the Cat's shirt! Being able to identify numbers and connect them to a quantity are early math skills!
Counting Clouds...I held up a circle with a number on it (something between 1 & 20). Each child placed that number of clouds (mini marshmallows) in the sky (blue paper). Success for some children is being able to identify/quantify numbers 1 - 10, while others it may be to identify/quantify numbers 1 - 20.
Fantastic Friday weather...a great day to play outside!

During Jesus Time today we remembered that "Nothing is impossible with God" while reviewing the story of Peter's surprise. We were reminded that praying is a special blessing. It is our way to talk to God. He hears the words we say, but He also hears what we are thinking! We can pray to God for everything!
