Welcome to our Thursday in Mrs. Mudd's class!
We had a tiny bit of time for free choice this morning before heading to "big kid" chapel for Maundy Thursday!
Mr. Marolf led chapel for us today...he asked the question...Maundy Thursday, what is it?
He told us all about the Last Supper and the washing of the disciples feet, where Jesus told them what was soon to come. He not only died on the cross to save us from our sins, the ultimate gift. He humbled Himself, the King of Kings, to do a servants job! He would do this for any of us as He loves us all the same!
Mr. Marolf even washed AJ's feet for him this morning!
We headed straight to the "old" playground to get our wiggles out...after a chapel service longer than we are used to (which, by the way, we did a fantastic job at chapel)!
To wrap up morning meeting today...we continued our virtual Easter Egg Hunt! Each day of Holy Week, I receive an email with a hint showing us what egg to search for...then click on the big pink rectangle!
There were two again today!!!
Laina found the pink egg first!
Then...we found the orange egg!
Today we read about how Jesus, in his worst suffering, turned to His Father in prayer. But He was not praying for Himself. He was pleading with God to forgive those who had put Him on the cross.
We worked more with the letter "W"!
We remembered start your letter "at the top" then big line down, big line up, big line down, big line up for "W". Then we came up with words that start with "W".
Anytime one of our friends thinks of a word that starts with "W" we can add it to our big letter. Or, if at home, your child sees a small picture or item that starts with a "W", bring it in and he/she can glue it to our big letter!
Then we practiced writing "W" with crayons (nice and short to reinforce proper grip)!
Time for small groups (centers)!
After having the doctor's office in our dramatic play for a couple weeks (and loving it), we are starting a project on doctors and nurses! Today, I asked each friend what he/she knows about doctors and nurses. As they answered, I took dictation, adding each answer to a web!
With Mrs. Dose, we began part 1 of a fun art project! Today each friend painted a tree and it's branches. Next week, we will finish the project with part 2...stayed tuned to see the final product! We learned it is very important to follow directions and complete in the correct sequence!
We brushed up on our doctor, nurse, and patient skills as we explored in our doctor's office! Dramatic play is a wonderful way to practice language and social skills in a comfortable setting.
And then, we "paused" small groups so we could head to the Easter egg hunt! Great practice for any we might do this weekend!

GO!!!
After all the fun of the egg hunt, we came back to finish up small groups (centers)!
Then...we had another surprise today! Mrs. Kuhlmann's 3rd graders came to our classroom to tell us the Easter story! They didn't use rocks like Miss Bevirt's class yesterday, they used plastic eggs and some fun, yummy (nut free) snacks (that we could eat) to tell us the story! We even got to take the Easter story home with us!
After our action packed morning...we headed to the big playground to get our bodies moving again!
And...then...surprise #3! Full Day Preschool held a "Sealing of the Tomb" service on our preschool playground! We imagined what it might have been like on Good Friday...
Mrs. Lohman had so much white cloth representing Jesus...
We all walked "Jesus" to the tomb...
Then...the rock was rolled in front of the tomb, sealing Jesus safely inside...
Finally, we each took a turn sealing the tomb (with playdough)!
