Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's class...and a sunny one at that!!!

Check out all the doctors and patients we had at our doctor's office today!  

Dramatic play is a excellent way to interact with other children in a comfortable setting, learning important social skills!

We had a bit of a back up in our waiting room!

Doctor Ella calls for SJ to come on back!

And...after listening to his heart and administering a shot...all that was needed was a little medicine to cure his sickness!

 Laina and Reese improved small motor control as they each made a rainbow "train" out of interlox!

 And...what was that bright, shiny, round thing in the sky???  Oh yes, that is the sun!!!  We enjoyed a brisk morning outside for large motor time!

To wrap up morning meeting there were 6 Easter items, but some looked the same except for being a different color!  We studied them, reviewed the colors, and locked them in our brain.  Then, I covered them with a blanket and took 1 away...what was missing?  Taking one away couldn't fool them, so I took 2 away.  Two was a bit trickier!  Recognizing and recalling is an early cognitive skill.

Our guest reader today was Liam's mom, Bethany!  We did a great job listening to some of her and Liam's favorite children's stories.  We did so awesome that she was able to read 3 books to us today!!!

Time for small groups (centers)!

With me each friend took turns...picking a bunny, any bunny!  On each bunny was a number.  Each child showed his/her friends, then said the number.  Then I gave them an activity to do that number of times (i.e. jump "4" times, do "7" toe touches).  The ability to recognize/identify numbers and connect them to their quantities is an early math skill.

Over the last 2 weeks we have been learning a new Easter, spring, or medical word and adding it to our word wall. Today each friend practiced his/her writing skills as he/she wrote these new words in his/her journal!

With Mrs. Dose we improved spatial awareness as we completed Easter Puzzles.  Each puzzle told a different part of the Easter Story.  Success for some was completing the puzzle "on top" of the picture.  Success for some was completing the puzzle "next to" the picture.  While success for others was completing the puzzle without looking at the picture!

And...for the first time in a while...we actually headed outside 2 times in 1 day (the weather finally cooperated)!

During Jesus Time today Zippy came to visit...quite sad.  His older neighbor had passed away and he was going to miss her.  We reminded him that Jesus came alive again, after we die, we will live again with Him in heaven!
