Mr. Marolf led our all school chapel for National Lutheran Schools Week...
How important it is to have a strong foundation for a building AND for your faith!!!
We used our rubber ramp to create a "wind maze" this morning. Our friends used his/her problem solving skills to figure out how to get a ping pong ball through the "maze" without their hands AND as quickly as possible! We were quite good at it!!!
It was time to see what we remember about positional words! I had 6 cards, each with a different positional word. Friends got to "pick a card, any card". I would read the card aloud and he/she would place his/her body in relation to Lincoln, our messenger for the day!
Three cheers for spring like temps as we played, played, and played some more on the preschool playground!
As it nears even closer to Valentine's day, we discussed places that we love...
Time for small groups (centers)!
With Mrs. Mudd we created our 3rd quarter self portraits. We remembered there are many parts to our bodies, more than just a head, eyes, nose, and mouth! Not only does this improve writing/drawing skills it helps create a greater awareness of self!
Hearts, hearts everywhere! Each friend would pick a card, count the number of hearts on the card, then using the finger, wrist, and hand muscles place that number of clothespins on the card! The ability to count objects accurately and understand one to one correspondence are early math skills!
We decided since we were all dressed in our fancy clothes...we should have a Frozen dance party!!!
SHHHHH!!! Center number 4 is a secret...you might find out our secret closer to February 14th!
We had a little time to head outside once more...great for a brain break!
Nolan took his turn with the favorite book bag! He loved getting to tell us about his favorite book, and showing us his drawing of his favorite part of the book. We ALL enjoyed listening as I read the book to the class...it was REALLY funny!
