Happy Friday from Mrs. Mudd's class!!!

We officially have 5 chrysalis!!!
Now we wait for 3 days and move them to a butterfly habitat. Then, wait again for butterflies!

Today I led our friends in some animal lego BINGO!  Grab a lego out of the box, each friend had to see if he/she had the match on his/her BINGO card!  Once you got all of your pieces, put your animal together!  We sure had fun, and we didn't even know we were practicing patience, identification of colors, matching skills, small motor control, spatial awareness, and hand-eye coordination!

YAY for sunshine...a great day for outside large motor time!!!

Our guest reader today was Jane's mom, Jessi!  We did a GREAT job sitting still and listening while she shared two fun books with us!

Our friends LOVE free choice Friday...check out just a few of our choices from today...

Outside again on this awesome sun-filled day!

Gwen sure had fun being our photographer today!

During Jesus Time today Zippy reminded us that sometimes we get mad or sad. We need to remember to take a deep breath and pray about it.  We all have the Holy Spirit to help us to forgive and show the love of Jesus to the person who made us feel angry or sad!

Thanks for checking out our Thursday!

Tricky Mouse was back and he brought squirrels with letters on them.  We did a great job of identifying/recognizing letter names and sounds to find that tricky mouse (each time he hid from us)!

We celebrated that He has risen, ALLELUIA at chapel today!

Mrs. Lohman showed us a few things that she got in her Easter basket, the most important being some colored eggs:

Green for Palm Sunday
Purple for wine
Red for Jesus blood on the cross
Brown for the stone rolled in front of the tomb
White for our sins being washed away
Yellow for the sun, reminding us that Jesus is ALIVE!

It has been two weeks since we "planted" our bulbs, so today each friend (not here yesterday) took some time observing his/her bulb.  He/she then drew a "week 2" picture of his/her bulb in his/her bulb journal!  We noticed that some bulbs have grown a really long stem, many even have a bunch of stems growing!  All of our bulbs have sprouted and are growing strong roots! It is exciting to see how each one is different, yet the same!

Two of our caterpillars have started to form a chrysalis (hanging in their "J" shape), and three are in stage 3, pupa (chrysalis)!  We learned that while in the hard "cocoon" the caterpillar is changing into a butterfly!  So, we took a little time discussing the four stages of a butterfly.  Today we concentrated on stage 3, Pupa!  After some observation, each friend drew stage 3 in his/her lifecycle of a butterfly journal.  We are quite excited to see metamorphosis take place from caterpillar to butterfly in our classroom!

 Time for small groups (centers)!

Our bunnies (with numbers on them) returned this week.  These bunnies were going to help us practice our numbers and counting!  With Mrs. Mudd, each friend was given a bunny, told her the number on it, then fed his/her bunny that number of jelly beans.  We decided that real bunnies should not eat jelly beans, that would not be healthy!

With Mrs. Cooper we practiced letter identification, letter sounds and proper formation of letters as we wrote letters in shaving cream with our fingers!

We helped Dr. Seuss put his number puzzle back together again!  A great way to plan and work together while improving spatial awareness and recognizing numbers and their quantities.

Hooray for a big gym on rainy days like today!

Have a wonderful rest of your day!
