Thanks for stopping by our Tuesday!
One quick reminder...
There is NO school on Friday, 3/14 for ELP, Preschool, and Kindergarten. (Grades 1 - 8 will be celebrating their Grandparent/Special Friend day in the AM on this day).
Here we go...
And with this painting...our "Alleluias" are complete and ready for tomorrow!
Kyle and Luke are using our clapper instruments as "fans" getting the leaves to blow around outside!
Just three friends talking about their favorite Bible stories!
More planning and teamwork to create a large magnatile creation!
Charley was SOOO excited to decorate her birthday crown, to wear next week!
We noticed that we have started another new month...March! So, we compared our weather pie graphs. We decided that February weather had more colors than any other month. We had the most snowy days in February, compared to other months! Being able to compare is an early math skill.
To wrap up morning meeting, we "tested" what we remember about positional words! But, before doing that we took a roll, counted or stated the number of dots, found that number on the paper, and I read to them the corresponding positional word. Each friend then found their spot in Tiny Tunes to "complete" his/her word!
Can you figure out what each friend rolled today?
Happy Birthday Natalia! Thank you for sharing your special day with us...
Time for some...SCIENCE!!!
We had 5 glasses (2 small, 2 medium, and 2 big). I "played" each cup, using the metal wand from the triangle. When we listened, we decided that the 2 small glasses made the same sound, 2 medium glasses made the same sound, and the 2 big glasses made the same sound. Then...I filled each glass with a different amount of water...
Prediction time...what will happen when we tap on each glass of water?
Time to test those predictions! We were surprised to hear that I could make music with the glasses now! Since each was filled with a different amount of water, each glass now made a different sound. Some higher and some lower!
Woo hoo with very little rain overnight at Zion...we headed to the preschool playground!
Time for small groups (centers)!
Uh oh...I needed some help. I had a bunch of pictures that got all mixed up! Some were things that made soft sounds, some made loud sounds. Thank goodness my friends were able to sort them in to loud vs. soft for me! (Sorting is an early cognitive skill).
St. Patrick's day is just around the corner...so...time for some fun shamrock BINGO!!! Find the match of what Mrs. Lorenz was holding and cover with jewels. It was hard to find some of the matches, they were quite similar!
We strengthened our finger, wrist, and hand muscles as we made instruments from playdoh!
We loved getting to create our own "music" as we used the glasses with water (from science), in the sensory table!
A few friends have been asking and asking if we get to go to the gym, so we planned a gym day! So, much fun using balloons as balls...
During Jesus Time today, Miss Steinbacher visited to explain Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. She also showed us the ashes and let us hold the container so we know they are cool, not hot. Each child will be given the choice to receive ashes tomorrow on their hand or forehead (they can also say, "no thank you").
Carter took his turn with the favorite book bag! He loved getting to tell us about his favorite book, and showing us his drawing of his favorite part of the book. We ALL enjoyed listening as I read the book to the class! Carter picked his favorite story (Baby Jesus being born) to be read, since we would need a lot of time to read the whole Bible!
Until tomorrow...
