A couple quick reminders...
There is NO school on Wednesday, 10/11 - Friday, 10/13 for a teacher’s conference.
Preschool is singing at church...our class (together with Mrs. Thomas’s PS class) is singing at Zion Lutheran Church at the 5:00 pm service on Saturday, October 21. Please join us for worship and to hear little ones sing praise to Jesus! Please arrive at 4:45 pm and meet in the welcome center (just outside the sanctuary). Your child will sing at the beginning of the service and will then join you for the rest of worship.
Here we go...
We began our day with a special check-in! Each child completed his/her "October My Name" for his/her portfolio. Each friend could choose whether or not he/she wanted to use his/her name tag for guidance! Some friends chose to write from memory this time! While each friend wrote his/her name I took special note of :

right or left hand
copied name or wrote from memory
We noticed it was a new month during morning meeting! Our September pie graph had been filled in! We saw it was different than August, that it also had a windy day. We also noticed there were more cloudy days in September than August. Comparing and understanding more, less, and the same are early math skills!
We then finished up morning meeting with Wiggle Worm...he is back for the first time this year!!! Today he brought with him uppercase letters on "milk". If they got the wiggle worm, the whole class got to wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. But, when I said, "Freeze!" everyone had to stop wiggling and freeze. Our friends were having fun getting to be "wiggly" in the classroom, but they didn't know they were learning self regulation and improving listening skills! It's hard to stop and freeze when having so much fun!
If a letter is picked, that friend told everyone the letter name and the letter sound!
Sunny skies had us headed to the preschool playground for some large motor fun!
Last week, we thought about and explored our resources, using them in different ways to see how we could build a bird feeder. Each friend then drew a "blueprint" of the bird feeder he/she would build!
Well...today was the big day...we got to build our bird feeders! This was a little tricky at first. But, we figured it out while we learned, through trial and error, how to construct using different materials!!!
After all that hard work in the classroom...outside time it is...
During Jesus Time today we learned how it must have been scary for Abraham and Sarah to have to move far away, where they knew no one. But, they trusted in God and that He would keep His promise! We know that we can trust in God and His promise to bless us with what we need!
