We jumped right into our Tuesday!

One quick reminder first...

There is NO school this Friday, 4/7 - Friday, 4/14
in celebration of Good Friday and Easter!

Onto our day...

A few friends helped paint some butterflies that will be displayed in the welcome center at Zion Church this Easter weekend...

While others were enjoying free choice time, each friend began his/her day with a special check-in!  Each child completed his/her "April My Name" for his/her portfolio. While each friend wrote his/her name I took special note of :

pencil grip
right or left hand
copied name or wrote from memory

It has been one week since we "planted" our bulbs, so today each friend took some time observing his/her bulb.  He/she then drew a "week 1" picture of his/her bulb in his/her bulb journal!  We noticed that some bulbs have grown a stem and roots, while some are just barely sprouting, or have just grown roots!  We learned that all things in God's creation are unique!  They may be the same kind of bulb, but each is different!

We noticed that another month has come and gone...it is now April!!! Our March pie graph had been colored in! We compared March to all of the other months. We noticed that March is similar to February and October, with the same four colors.  Being able to compare and understand more, less, and the same is an early math skill!

We enjoyed a fun book picked out by our class librarian today...

We cleaned up quick and had our listening ears on, so we cold enjoy extra time outside!!!

Time for small groups (centers)!

With Mrs. Mudd, we worked together putting rabbits in order from 1 - 20! A fun way to practice number recognition and sequence!

We improved small motor control and hand-eye coordination as we weaved strings in and out of lacing cards!

With Mrs. Fahey, we began part 1 of a fun art project! Today each friend painted a tree and its branches.  Later this week, we will finish the project with part 2...stayed tuned to see the final product!  We learned it is very important to follow directions and complete in the correct sequence!

We improved small motor control and number/letter recognition as we matched upper/lowercase and numerals/dots, and then snapped the egg pieces together!

The sun was out and so were we!!!

During Jesus time today we remembered Jesus loves us so much that He paid the ultimate price to save us from our sins, so we can live again with Him in heaven one day!

See you same time tomorrow!

Then...we were off to get our bodies moving on this AWESOME spring morning!!!

With Mrs. Dose, we began part 1 of a fun art project!  Today each friend painted a tree and its branches.  Later this week, we will finish the project with part 2...stayed tuned to see the final product!  We learned it is very important to follow directions and complete in the correct sequence!

Off to enjoy bikes and running around with friends!

During Jesus Time today we learned the story of Easter morning.  The earth shook and an angel appeared.  The angel rolled the stone away from the tomb! Two of Jesus' friends went to the tomb and were a bit surprised by the angel.  The angel told them, "Don't be afraid..."  The two women looked in and Jesus was not there!  He had risen, He was not dead anymore!  Jesus is more powerful than death. Because He rose from the dead, you will also live again!!!

Have an excellent rest of your Monday!
