Welcome to our Thursday in preschool!

Today was a bit of a "strange" day for me. What should have been grandparent/special friend day was just a "regular" day for our friends. Most didn't know there was something "missing" from our day, even though I did. With that being said, I am ever so grateful that as I type this we are completing week 26 of in person learning here at Zion!!!

Thank you to everyone for all you have done to make this possible!

Okay...okay...on to our day!

Mara takes her watercolor painting very seriously...

Just as these friends taking boat building very seriously!

I wonder if Livy has a difficult time teaching Ellie with her back turned to her?!?!?

Oooohhhh! We love magnatiles and were shocked to hear this will be their last day out for a while!

To wrap up morning meeting, we "tested" what we remember about positional words!  But, before doing that we took a roll, counted or stated the number of dots, found that number on the paper, and I read to them the corresponding positional word.  Each friend then found their spot in Mudd's Music to "complete" his/her word!

Today we introduced the letter "K" and number "8"!

We remembered start your letter "at the top" then big line down, little line diagonal, little line diagonal to write a "K" and make an "S" and go back home to write an "8"! Then we came up with words that start with "K" and found "8's" around the room!

Anytime one of our friends thinks of a word that starts with "K" we can add it to our big letter.  Or, if at home, your child sees a small picture or item that starts with a "K", bring it in and he/she can tape it to our big letter!

Then we practiced writing "K" and "8" with crayons (nice and short to reinforce proper grip)!

And...another perfect day for large motor time OUTSIDE!

We enjoyed another free choice today, as a little treat since grandparents or special friends couldn't visit today!

During free choice, each friend was given the chance to play our "water glass" instrument (a few friends said, "no thank you"). Many friends noticed it sounded a lot like our xylophone!

Off to the parking lot playground we went...we are so happy that the ground isn't soft and squishy anymore!

Lucas snapped a few pics as photographer today...

During Jesus time today we discussed that sometimes we don't want to give Jesus our gifts or treasures.  It is hard to do. But, we need to remember that Jesus loves and forgives us.  He wants us to give our gifts with a happy heart!  We know that we can then trust Jesus to give us all we need!

Have a great weekend!

We had a wonderful Wednesday in preschool!

While others were enjoying free choice time, each friend (not here yesterday) began his/her day with a special check-in!  Each child completed his/her "March My Name" for his/her portfolio. We did great! While each friend wrote his/her name I took special note of :

pencil grip
right or left hand
copied name or wrote from memory

We were SOOO excited that the "mountain" was open again today!!! It's been a while, waiting for all of the mud to dry out so it would be safe again...

With what would USUALLY be grandparent/special friend day tomorrow and no school on Friday, we enjoyed "Whatever You Want Wednesday".  Check out just a few of our choices from today...

We loved extra free choice time today, but our room sure got messy.  After working hard to clean up, we enjoyed time to run and play with friends on the parking lot playground!

Clare had a great time as photographer today...

Mrs. Stanglein, Half Day PS Teacher, led chapel for us today! She helped us learn more about the Lord's Prayer, reminding us that when we sin Jesus washes our sins away!

Have a great night.
