We had a great day first day in preschool!
Please take a few minutes to check out our day...
We all started our day with our first check-in...writing his/her name on a special piece of paper!
Our first day of preschool 2017 "head shots"...everybody say "cheese"!
Reese decided to rest a bit before starting her first day...summer just started...didn't it?!?!?
Hadley and Wesleigh expressed the world as they see it while playing in our kitchen!
Carter explored the rice in the sensory table...what does it feel like?
A few little scientists explored jewels with the light table and magnifying glasses!
Kinley and Gwen improved her small motor control creating with "good junk"!
Each friend picked a job for the first time today...
Carter was our meteorologist...
Hudson and Gwen were table washers...
Parker was our messenger...
Ella was our calendar helper...
Mara did an awesome job setting one cup at each chair (one-to-one correspondence) as our snack helper!
We did a FANTASTIC job pouring our own drinks today...some large motor control practice in action! (And...only 1 spill!)
Kinley was our caboose!
Josh took the lead...as line leader!
Hadley used her muscles being our door holder today!
A big thumbs up as we patiently wait our turn to line up for the all school picture...we did a great job listening!
We read/watched the book "The Kissing Hand" on the smartboard! We loved getting to hear all about little raccoon's first day of school and then compared it to our first day of school!
Time for small groups (centers)!
With Mrs. Dose we improved small motor control and patterning skills as we placed cubes together in a pattern. Success for some was copying a pattern Mrs. Dose started. Success for others was finishing a pattern Mrs. Dose started. Success for other was starting and finishing a pattern on his/her own!
With Mrs. Mudd we created a special first day of preschool art piece...look for it hanging in the hallway soon! While waiting his/her turn, we enjoyed coloring a picture of theme verse for this year, Ephesians 2:8 - 9!
We improved large motor control, expressed creativity, and worked as a team as we built our house or the school with blocks!
We improved spatial awareness and small motor control as we put puzzles together!
I am so proud of everyone! We did a wonderful job of following directions for our first experience with small groups with our new class!
Brooklyn was our invocation leader, beginning Jesus Time for us!
Wesleigh, our custodian for the day, helped Mrs. Dose clean up before going to the gym!
Although our day included a lot of learning routine and at times felt rushed, we were still able to get some gym time in (to get those wiggles out) before lunch!
Run, run as fast as you can!!!
Old friends...play a little ring around the rosie...
Emma picked a prayer and called names as lunch helper!
Jack got to pick out a book as our librarian!
During Jesus Time today we learned that God created everyone of us. He knows everything about us...even when we make poor choices. But...we remembered that he always loves us. He loves us when were happy, sad, angry, scared, and even when we are being silly!
Each day we will have a photographer...Sammy had the chance to take some pictures during gym time today! Check out his work below...
We began learning A LOT of new routines today. As I type this, many of our friends are fast sleep, resting from our busy day! I am so proud of all my preschoolers, they did AWESOME!!!
