Happy Tuesday from Mrs. Mudd's class!

One quick reminder...

Week of the Young Child is this week, April 13 - April 17…Join in on the dress up day fun as we celebrate our youngest learners!

Wednesday, 4/15 - Wear career or workout clothes
Thursday, 4/16 - Wear your favorite color
Friday, 4/17 - Dress like someone in your family

Onto our day...

Each friend began his/her day with a special check-in!  Each child completed his/her "April My Name" for his/her portfolio.  Each friend was asked to try writing his/her first name without using his/her nametag!  All were successful, some using nametags, some without his/her nametag!!!  While each friend wrote his/her name I took special note of :

pencil grip
right or left hand
copied name or wrote from memory

A few last friends completed our WOYC chain...we can't wait to see it added to all the other PS classes, and hung on our preschool playground!

I spy a chef, a baker, a server, and a grill master!

Wiggle worm was here to welcome the start of baseball season!!!  If a friend picked a number on a baseball, that friend said the number aloud.  Then I gave the class an activity to complete that number of times...

Two bunny hops...

If a wiggle worm was picked...

WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE...and FREEZE! A great way to practice self regulation, having to stop and freeze when having so much fun wiggling!

What can I say...outside time is the best time!!!

It has been 2 weeks since we "planted" our bulbs, so today each friend took some time observing his/her bulb.  He/she then drew a "week 2" picture of his/her bulb in his/her bulb journal!  We noticed that some bulbs have grown a long stem and long roots, while some are just barely sprouting!  We learned that all things in God's creation are unique!  They may be the same kind of bulb, but each is different!

Time for small groups (centers)!

We noticed our tree was beginning to blossom and has tiny little leaves!!! So...we completed our 4th observational drawing (spring) of the tree outside our classroom!

With Mrs. Trower we practiced letter identification, letter sounds and proper formation of letters as we wrote letters in shaving cream with our fingers!

We helped Clifford put his alphabet puzzle back together again!  A great way to plan and work together while improving spatial awareness and recognizing letters.

Another chance to get our bodies moving outside...

Surprise...what a "Tasty Tuesday" it was on this hot April day, enjoying some yummy popsicles!!!

Emmi returned the favorite book bag today! We enjoyed sharing a few fun times we've had with a babysitter...

During Jesus Time today we celebrated that "1,2,3,4,5 Jesus is Alive" and "The rock was rolled away! Hooray for Easter day! He died on the cross and came alive again so we can one day live with Him in heaven.

Enjoy your evening...
