Thanks for checking out our Thursday in preschool!

Magnatiles are still a top choice in the morning...

But, painting and baking come in a close second!!!

We then finished up morning meeting with Wiggle Worm...he is back!!!  Today he brought with him lowercase letters on cookies.  If wiggle worm was picked from the bag...everybody WIGGLE, then stop!  Having to stop is tough, but it helps us learn self regulation!

If a letter is picked, that friend told everyone the letter name and the letter sound!

We enjoyed chapel, led by Zion DCE, Mr. Wood. He reminded us of the season of giving and being thankful for all that God has provided for us!

Today we introduced the letters "H" and "T"!

We remembered start your letter "at the top" then big line down, big line down, little line across for the "H" and big line down, little line across the top for the "T"! Then we came up with words that start with "H" and "T"!

Anytime one of our friends thinks of a word that starts with "H" or "T" we can add it to our big letter.  Or, if at home, your child sees a small picture or item that starts with an "H" or "T", bring it in and he/she can tape it to our big letter!

What a perfect fall day to get our bodies moving on the preschool playground...

We sure do love it when we see our older siblings at school!

Time for small groups (centers)!

With Mrs. Lorenz we worked on beginning letter sounds!  Each friend received different cards, each with a letter and 2 pictures on it.  He/she had to figure out which picture started with the letter on the card.  Then, had to place a clothespin on that picture!  Success for some was getting help from a friend or Mrs. Lorenz.  Success for others was figuring out the letter and sound on his/her own! Not only were we improving early literacy skills, we were improving small motor control too!

One of our final steps to our food project..."What do you know now about food?" I took dictation as each friend told me what he/she knows now about food!

We improved large motor control as we had a dance party to Veggie Tales music!

One last chance to explore the beans in the sensory table!

After all that hard work...time to run and have some fun in the sun! We LOVED the leaves today...

Until tomorrow...
