Welcome back to Mrs. Mudd's preschool class...now in 2018!!!

We love to strengthen our finger, wrist, and hand muscles while creating with playdoh (especially when it's brand new and homemade by Zion's 3rd graders)!!!

And...it was finally out to play with! The fire/police station was a big hit this morning!

While many friends enjoyed free choice, some friends spent a little time withe me this morning completing a January interview!  It sure is fun to watch and listen as each decides how he/she wants to answer each question!

We noticed we started another new month, January (and even a new year)!  It was time to check out the December pie graph!  We could tell just by looking that sunny (yellow) had the least days in December, while cloudy (black) had the most.  We also noticed that December had similar weather to November, all sunny or cloudy weather at the time of morning meeting each day!  Understanding more, less, and the same is an early math skill.

We loved that Tricky Mouse came to visit us our first week back after break!  Today he brought numbers.  But, he couldn't fool us, we knew all these numbers and found him every time! Recognizing/identifying numbers is an early math skill.

This silly COLD weather had us headed to the commons to get the wiggles out and improve large motor control!

A little running...

And a bit of duck, duck, goose!

We settled in to enjoy a book reminding us what Winter is all about...even though it can be super cold, it can still be tons of fun!

We eased back into preschool with a second round of free choice time today...as you can see the fire/police station is quite popular! Here we are creating the world as we see it!

And...this class loves to create from "scratch"! We were excited to find new markers, crayons, and glue to start off the year!

Even though it's Thursday, we were blessed to be able to use the gym on this cold day, for large motor time!

Here we are enjoying a game of red light, yellow light, green light with other preschoolers!  Red light...stop, green light...run, yellow light...walk (or slow down)!  This was tricky adding the yellow light in there, be we sure had to use our listening skills!

During Jesus Time today we learned what it means to protect something.  We remembered that God protects us every day.  We can't see Him, but in the Bible, it says that God promises to always be with us and watch over us!  Even when we are scared, we can pray to Jesus and remember that He is always with us!

Josh remembered his photography skills from before break...check out his work!

It's good to be back and have you checking out our day again!!!
