We had a great day in preschool...check it out!

While others enjoyed free choice time, each friend found out "How Many SHAMROCKS Tall Are You?" 

Once measured he/she found the correct number, for how many shamrocks tall he/she measured and wrote his/her name on our chart/graph.  The ability to compare and measure, using non-standard forms of measurement, is an early math skill!

As of today we decided that 12 and 13 have the most, but are also the same.  Then, 11 and 14 have the least (for those with names by them) and are also the same!

And...the forecast keeps telling us we should be "stuck" inside, but prayers were answered again for large motor time outside...YIPPEE!!!

Mrs. Mudd had 7 Easter items.  We took a minute to talk about each one and "lock" them in our brains!  Then while hidden under a towel, Mrs. Mudd took away 2 items! Our friends' job was to recall what was missing!  We did AWESOME today, didn't miss even once.  Recognizing and recalling is an early cognitive skill.

Time for...SCIENCE!!!

We started out with 3 different colors of water...1 red, 1 yellow, and 1 blue...

Then...we made our predictions...

 What did happen when we mixed...

Blue + Red = Purple

Red + Yellow = Orange

Yellow + Blue = Green

Our purple looked almost black, so when we do this again my friends are going to remind me to add LESS blue!

Time for small groups (centers)!

With Mrs. Mudd we worked on shape recognition and then practiced writing each shape on his/her own! The ability to recognize/identify shapes is an early math skill.

We improved small motor control while improving letter and number recognition.  One half of an egg had an uppercase letter and we found the lowercase match...or one half had a number and we found the match that had that number of dots.  We then had to push the 2 halves of the egg together to make a whole egg!

With Mrs. Dose we worked on beginning letter sounds!  She had a picture.  Our friends' job was to find the picture on the carpet that starts with the same letter sound.  The ability to understand/recognize that some words begin with the same letter is an early literacy skill!

We then put our crayons to the test! We investigated if we mixed the same colors that we mixed during our science experiment, but with crayon, would we still get the same result???  A great question to ask your child tonight when talking about his/her school day!

And...the rain finally came...but that's okay, we got our wiggles out in the gym!!!

And...we ran so fast...we needed a quick rest ;o)

During Jesus Time today we took some time to thank Jesus for all the good things He does for us everyday.  We asked Him to help us to have thankful hearts, and to forgive us when we forget!
